Virgin say this: 17/01/12@18:25
If you're calling having lost your internet connection since 5pm, we are currently experiencing a nationwide fault resulting in loss or intermittent loss of connection. Please do not change any of the settings on your router. You may need to power down your router for 5 minutes and then turn back on, one ore more times to re-establish your connection. Our engineers are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible. -

Anyone know where I can get my hands on a nice chrome 700c fork?
What's your budget?
I actually might be selling a chrome fork in a week or so, just waiting on delivery of new bike then will put my bike up on here...will probably end up breaking it for parts.
if you want new, Brick lane bikes have some pretty nice chrome forks in their catalogue.

brick lane bikes have a handful of chrome fork that you can buy OTP.

Not sure what my budget it tbh, but I would rather pay for something made of a decent alloy of steel rather than getting some cheap shit. Will have a look at blb and see what they got. I might be interested in yours Meds. Can you send me a pic/info? Cheers guys

I found an iphone 4 with a badly cracked screen on the floor two weeks ago whilst drinking in soho. I kept an eye out for a policeman to give it to but ended up drunk instead, totally forgot and found it in my coat pocket just now. I charged it and the screen comes on but it's locked and obvs I don't have the passcode. Any bright ideas for trying to reunite it with its owner?

hand it in at a police station, ask for a reference, go back after a while, if unclaimed, have it.

Wait for him to phone you, that's what happened when I found one.

I found someone selling single speed freewheels that seemed to be designed to go on the fixed side of a flipflop hub. Something like a reverse freewheel. My Google-fu is weak tonight, and I can't find them again, can anyone point me in the right direction?
-
• #23592
eh?
all single freewheels will go on the sprocket thread of a fixed hub. the fixed side of a flip flop is the same as normal fixed hubs.
a reverse freewheel? no drive pedalling forward but resistance when you stop pedalling?
-
• #23594
Bingo! That's the fella! now to see if it really does what I think it does...
-
• #23595
Your problem being that you need a hub with the opposite threading for it to work. A bit pointless really unless it's for a BMX where you want to grind on the RHside
-
• #23596
ahhhhh - I see what you mean. yeah, won't work on a flip flop.
-
• #23597
confused
Think that I'm getting there, and have just been being a bit dim.
Is what you're saying that I can just thread a normal freewheel hub onto both sides of a flipflop wheel, and have a choice of size that way, and that this is just a distraction that has confused me when I spotted it.
Or is it that I'm just being totally silly in thinking that this would be a good idea and that someone else might have made possible for me?
-
• #23598
the threads on either side of a flip flop are the same, in that they both tighten clockwise. you could then have two different size freewheels (both right hand threads - ie normal) and just flip the wheel over to swap between ratios. but then you will be governed by the distance you can move the wheel in the drop outs to make up for the increased/decreased amount of chain being used by the bigger/smaller freewheels
if that makes sense
-
• #23599
i think (tester will know) that in regular horizontal drop outs if you are using, say, a 16t freewheel and the wheel is right at the back of the drop outs, you could swap in an 18t freewheel and you should have enough room in the drop outs to move it forward the requisite amount
/not 100% sure and can't be arsed to look but sounds right

What I posted is a freewheel specifically for a leftie. For this you need the hub to match. I gather they were made for BMX as people prefer to grind on a certain side of the bike and the chainset can get in the way.
I don't know what you're after. Your explanation is confusing.
