Crassula ovata better known as 'Money plant' ?
They are succulents and will react badly to soggy conditions. It wont mind humidity
Hopefully you have potted whats left into a well drained compost. After watering always empty the drip tray. More sun it gets the better.
Roots easily from cuttings so if your one dies just find a new bit in a chinese takeaway somewhere. -

I'm on the 3rd spawn of mine I think. Never kept them in well drained pots so will do so from now on

This is the same: an offshoot of one I had that was an offshoot of one I had that was an offshoot of one my mum had...
I was pretty savage with taking off anything that looked dead/dying. Sadly it's looking pretty tiny now, but hopefully it'll pull through. It's in a nice, big pot with fairly loose compost right by a window. Will lay off the water from now on. Was always careful about not giving it too much - no idea what I was thinking when I put it in the bathroom. Lesson learned.

If anyone wants a mini-oak tree I have a few this size which I'm not going to keep... I planted a dozen acorns thinking only one or two would germinate, got four.

Tooting. Or I could pop it in a plastic bag and take it to work in Victoria. Should survive a few hours? Actually, I'll be trying to put some miles in over Christmas so could always drop it off...

Is anyone out there growing horseradish? Could really do with a couple of small plants - beer/personal-favours in return!

It grows in verges all over the country. It's really, really easy to find if you know what you're looking for.

So I am told, I have been shown the leaves, even took half a plant in my back pocket on my last trip to the countryside (well zone 2 anyway) without success.

I'll check if ours escaped the fiance's New Years Day under-performing plants blitz.. If there is something left I'll see what I can do.

Put in 20 broad beans this afternoon and the chillis are now coming through in the propagator. Jalapenos and padrons.

I'm having a shitty time with my plants at the moment; they all seem to be wilting and in trouble. And none of my chilli plants seem to have survived the winter. When should they be awakening? Seems like there should already be signs of growth, but none...

Managed to get my tyme, basil, parsley and rosemary through the winter. All kept on the window cill except the rosemary which is on the balcony.....obvious but keep in day/sunlight and water every 3/4 days
They're coming on a treat right now

^^ I've never managed to chillis through the winter. Always lost them to fungal infections so I generally start afesh each year. Mine have germinated now so will give them a bit longer to get a bit larger then on to tomatoes.

I cut back two chilli plants that were at my girlfriend's flat exactly as I did my seven: all of mine have died (I'm increasingly certain) and both of hers survived. Bah.

think you can cut back chilli plants for the winter and protect them from the cold, then putt hem back out for spring and summer providing the cold aint killed them they should re grow and produce the fruit.

Does anyone have a nice variety of chilli that they can give me some seeds from? If I stick them in the little propagator I have there may still be time to get a couple of weedy plants underway this year. And because they live indoors I'll try not cutting them back and just letting them grow through the winter.
Anyone know anything about jade plants? I have one that's a few years old but it's in a bad way. I put it in the bathroom a couple of months ago and it looked like it was doing really well; big, fat, shiny leaves. But one day it just started shedding whole branches. I guessed it got way too much water, so I moved it into a dry room and hoped it would pull through. Several weeks later it's still dropping branches. So today I took it out of the pot, pulled off anything loose or ill-looking, teased the roots apart and re-potted. It's now just a single stem a couple of inches tall, whereas before it was a pretty bushy plant 10 inches tall. Will this save it? Is there anything else I can do?
