PS, can anyone point me to a nice duathlon in the spring?

I havent had that before,
would advise that you see a physiotherapist-doing a marathon aint breezy
also, avoid getting advice from internetz strangers that just post random clips of elite Scandanavian female runners -

More Scandanavian female runners please.
http://ridewithgps.com/ says I have logged 530km of running so far this year. I want to try and equal or better than in the first 6 months of 2012.

LANZAGROTTY HOLIDAY SPEZIAL REPORT
have you been there? its a rock off Africa, and its great for running
we had a volcano behind us at Playa Blanca, I needed to go up it, and superior powers told me that there would be some sort of trod path up there we could run on- look what we found-
this is dying and going to heaven running for me.
swimming in atlantic straight after, lush.the accomodation was bit shit but the bviews made up for it
at least we found somewhere special as the rest of the island is a bit similar everywhere like this
good luck with all your running in 2012

what shoes do i want next.
i get a 40% discount at nike, so it's really hard to look elsewhere but essentially i want something thats not asics, is wide and will probably last 400 miles...

only run in inov-8s other than the odd 10 k in nike lunarglides
theyre not a wide shoe particularly
guess it depends what terrain youre on but wouldnt it be worth looking at new pegasus trail or similar? -

^^ I'm looking for a road specific shoe as I have a pair of adidas kanadia for when it gets muddy.
I'm going to try and find a pair of innov8 to try on, I've really liked my nike free's but I'm getting a bit of pain just behind my big toe running in them now so I don't know if this is because of wear and tear on the shoes or if my feet don't like them...
I do quite like the vomit inducing options available on the nike website at the moment so I might order a pair for the marathon!

Looks like ellis brigham in covent garden stock them, anyone know if they have a treadmill/gait analysis set up there?
Moved my interval session to tomorrow as I didn't want to wake up early enough for an hours run this morning so did a second tempo run this morning.
Pretty good consistency between this morning and last night both runs were 5 miles and about 36 minutes so about 7min10sec miles.
Will do interval on the way home tomorrow and then either a recovery run on fri morning or a ride in and 30 min row for some variety

Which inov-8 are you after? I'm pretty convinced that the F-lite 230s would be ideal for me (I love my x-talon 212s on the trails and they seem to be very similar) but I can't find anywhere near Oxford (tried most shops in Oxford/Abingdon/Milton Keynes/Reading without joy. Maybe coming up to London tomorrow and Saturday so if anyone knows anywhere with them in stock I'd be glad of the info - I'm a UK 9 or EU 43 in my X-talons.
(also maybe interested in the F-lite 195s)

I'm back from 3 nights in Comrie in Perthshire, with my old running club. Got some good runs in, including an attempt on the 2nd at Ben Chonzie (931m, pronounced "Honzie"), but we aborted on reaching the plateau near the top due to shite weather. Still, it was beautiful in the snow. Shame it's so effing far from London, I am not pleased to be back :(
@ewanmac, several of my friends there were very keen on their x-talons. I'm going to be looking out for a cheap pair methinks.

Hey everyone- this is my first post in this thread, thought maybe you could help me with what I assume is an overuse injury.
Training for a marathon now, running 35/ish miles a week, but I have this nagging pain in my right ankle. Feels like a tendon that goes from the inside of the ankle up the calf about halfway. Kicks in around mile 5.
Anyone ever deal with this?
