Caustic soda. Available in B&Q or somewhere like that? Need to give the toilet at work a serious attack.

What are you trying to shift?

You have to flush goldfish one at a time. Not only to prevent blockage, but because it's more respectful

The ceramic under the waterline is brown, attacked it with bleach and a good strong brush and it's hardly done anything to it. The previous user didn't keep the best hygiene in work

That's limescale build up, you need acid to shift it, not alkali.

A sachet of kettle descaler normally does the trick. The brown stains are where the shite has bonded to limescale.

Great minds.

I see. Good thing I asked. I'll get some cash out of the kitty and go shopping tomorrow then. I'll try the kettle descaler initially, it's pretty nasty

Bleach is not for cleaning toilets, WC Duck or Harpic is. Bleach is for wiping down piss stains arpund it.
What guys said. Or lemon juice and vinegar and such. -

Just ordered some mudguards, is it sad that I'm more excited about these arriving and fitting them than I have been about pretty much anything I've bought recently?!

Reference Letters
I'm having to write my first reference/letter of recommendation today. As in one of those ones that you take a hard copy of with you, rather than being asked at a later date.
Any tips?
...and more importantly how to I address it? - to whom it may concern?
cheers.

Kind regards,

Think it needs to be quite specific - it's for a new accountant before they officially recognise me as a client. They said a solicitor or a serving police occifer.
So a signed photography of Peter Falk probably won't cut the mustard.
Cops wouldn't do mine when I queried them. Uselesser and uselesser...
I paid 5-10 quid to a legal eagle on Bishopsgate somewhere (New St?) to do it.

Why?
(To qualify, I know I can spin fine, it's not like I need to work on it. And why would I need to worry about my heart rate?)I haven't used a cadence sensor for years now. It can be useful (moreso for new riders) but it's not necessary.
You don't need to worry about your heart rate either though it can help to know it if you are training for specific races or events and want something for pacing and measuring training efforts.
Wanna buy my Polar S725X? :)

How do I get rid of the tide marks on my shoes from salty water ingress?
My old leather shoes never did this but these shiny ones just gave up.
