i am probably going to go front disk aswell. does it make a huge difference using a rear disk caliper on the front?

I see. The cheap and dirty option is to sand the affected areas and then apply primer - you can get it from car shops, then get it painted when you can afford it.

It's really heavy paint, she's trying to slim the bike down a bit.

Primer is porous so the frame will rust underneath the paint then start bubbling a few months/weeks down the line. Rattle cans are cheap enough. Give it a going over with one then when you can afford to or have chosen on colour take it in and get it coated. They blast all the old paint anyway, if they didn't it could react.

Yes. It's a beautiful thing.

But painting needs a primer as does clear coating apparently, according to Vaz.

They don't prime with powder coating, they bead blast to bare metal and then put the powder on, and a clear powder coat is just that, its not a laquer.

Just chucked a 38c Nimbus on the back, rolls way better than a 35c M+... Will just have to see how long it lasts now...
