If you truly want experience in ALL kinds of cycles, then you may want to consider Wheels for Wellbeing. If you don't know anything about them, you can google them, but in short, they are a disability cycling charity based in Brixton, and operate sessions in Brockwell Park and at Croydon Arena, South Norwood.
Contact David Behar there if you're interested.

  • Thanks will give them a call and see what he has available.

If you are prepared to donate time for free and gain experience...

Waltham Forest Bike recycling. (google it!)

No pay but they are always looking for volunteers. And the (couple of part-time) staff are there to teach volunteers how to strip, rebuild, service and repair bikes not to do it theselves whilst using the volunteers as dogsbodies. And if you can work on cheap BCOs that have rusted outside for ages then anything else is easy!

  • try Evans and other big bike shops. They always need bike builders. Not hard to get to grips with

  • We're looking for an After Effects operator for tomorrow & probably Friday... Stop frame animation. Day rate depends on skill set - around £200PD

We're based in Camden, and would need you on site- could you mail me if you're available jm@jeanmichel.co.uk

    cheers.

  • Hi,

I am currently studying a Level 2 Carpentry and Joinery NVQ and am looking for a trainee Building Surveyor position to start asap in and around London. This maybe a bit of a longshot but any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers, Joe

  • Currently unemployed due to long term illness (nothing catching!) and getting back on my feet and into cycling again after 3yrs away in an attempt to get fit (and more importantly loose beer gut!). Have owned, fettled, set up and built my own bikes and others since I was a kid (hit 30 this year :( ) and thoroughly enjoy getting that perfect setup!
Are there any shops out there looking for a part time junior mechanic (depending on whats required) based in west London (or anywhere I could reasonably cycle to from TW15, i.e. under 20miles), in exchange for an occasional rummage through your parts bins? Have just finished building first SS 26" wheeler and am looking to build a 700cc fixie now. Been thoroughly bitten by the bug! Am very good mechanically and if I don't know how to do something, will work it out. Love bikes and love working on em. Help a brother out?! :P

  • want!

  • That would be amazing

  • I don't have trendy enough hair to be a designer.

  • most designers on here are bald.
