Hmmm, fantastic website. German or not I'm confused. Just ordered a lever and didn't pay anything. Maybe they will invoice me instead
Got an email today saying it would be €12.50 for shipping, I said no thanks.

Hmm, maybe I misunderstood that, but I thought multi-release meant you could unclip in both directions, left and right, and that that's a good thing for polo...
Nah, single release means both left and right, cos the cleat is symmetrical. Also, there are two different types of caged pedals; some have the clip on one side and a normal flat pedal on the other, whereas most are just a double sided pedal with a resin cage to improve foot stability/protect the pedal.
I use multi release, recommend them to anyone trying out clipless. Now have pedals cranked up to max, very rarely come out unwantedly.
Plastic surround on the spd pedals gives you the feeling of a platform pedal for spds. They are still awful to ride in normal shoes as the spd part is raised. Normal spds give me a hotspot, and don't feel as stable.
I've only been using SPDs for a month now and was surprised how quick you get used to them. Multi release are good to start on for those HOLYSHIT moments when you panic so you can just pull your foot up hard to get out of the pedals and get foot down or whatever.
I got my m450 pedals for free so went for them but if I has the money I'd get the platform ones, like snoops says they feel a bit more stable which always helps.
Hmm, so i just bought single release, I hope that was the right decision.
I decided that while it might be tougher to start with, I do hop around a bit in goal, so don't want to unclip then.

Ha! Tonight's going to be funny! :)
I think you should have gone multi too, you can still hop in multi.
-
• #6831
really? I haven't opened them yet, I could still swap them...
-
• #6832
If you can adjust the tension then just wind multis right up like snoops says. Best of both.
-
• #6833
The tension on the pedals? I think so.
-
• #6834
Tension up, learn to fall off less, works for trackies...

Depends on the exact pedals but there should be adjustment bolts for changing/equalising spring tension.
-
• #6836
Yep, I can increase the tension on the pedals.
-
• #6837
stick with the single release!

I'm now on single release, but I'm glad I used training cleats for a few months.
Keep the single release even if you want to start on multi.
I have some shimano dx platform spd pedals for sale, £25.

I've got everything already, the cleats was the final bit.
I'll start straight on the single release then, if it really doesn't work for me I can always get the others.

M647s? Or the older metal ones?
Oh and FWIW here's another pointless opinion for you. I just changed to one single release cleat and one multi. I like it.

...training cleats...
Ha!

• #6847
unclipping accidentally is definitely worse than not being able to unclip
-
• #6848
I want this.
Also want. Probably the only way I'll get some cycling in this winter. Quite like the hipflask attachments on this one though…

Might be interested if IDoNothing doesn't want them, are the platforms big enough for non-spd shoes too?

Yep I'll take them, assuming there still going. Tomorrow night?
Sorry for not getting back to you, RIck... You can have my red ones for a beer... You working today? Come grab them if you ain't...
