Are the rear canti mounts on the inside of the seatstay to keep them from damage?

Rode one of these in Lausanne. Pretty decent but mega heavy! Strong though by the look of it.
-
• #6108
Heavy? but it's aluminium, isn't the point that it's light? The link above says 1.9Kg
-
• #6109
1.9kg is pretty light, but the one in Lausanne was definitely heavier than my bike (and my bike is much bigger). Maybe it was the way the Milan guy had it built up...but his set up didn't look any more heavy-duty than mine.
I don't see the point in Alu unless it is noticeably lighter than steel equivalents. I couldn't trust an alu frame when travelling, I seem to come back from trips with a dent in my frame every time. Alu doesn't like to be dented like steel does.
Looked clean and tidy though, Dodici have done a good job on the frame. Nice details, if you like their style. Great job on getting a production polo frame out there. Hope someone in London picks one up.

So this is the first dedicated, mass produced polo frame? That's awesome.
I've fired off an email to see how much they are. -

likewise.

• #6112
Nice, I wonder how the Alu will hold up?

pukes

Pukey but iirc Iron Horse make some nice strong frames. It could be a nice cheapish polo base
-

That looks like a beautiful frame. One thing I'm not clear on is...
...this frame is intended to be used with 26" cassette freewheel MTB wheels. You can even use two rear wheels on your bike by purchasing its own 135 spaced fork...
Does that mean the fork with the frameset is 135 spaced, or is available separately? Sounds very similar to this which was only 120 spaced and looked kind of odd.

Pretty sexy looking.
-
• #6121
It sounds like the frame could come with the standard 100mm or the 135mm, or you might have to buy the frame package then buy the 135mm spaced fork.
Is the idea of the cloth wheelcover to stop the ball bouncing? I prefer a plastic cover
-
• #6122
yeah its so you can take it off easy between riding bike on/off court to stop wind factor.
-
• #6123
the 135 fork is so you can run two rear wheels incase something goes wrong with your freewheel etc. same as on a pugsley
-
• #6124
135 forks are retarded.
