could this riot be seen as a divisive issue ..... on lfgss.com the big split of 2011 could become as infamous as the lost data of 2009
we should start some new sub forums one for the middle class one for the lower class
maybe have a pitched battle somewhere in london in the coming months -

Do you have an ISA? That's tax avoidance...
I do not.
My savings (what little exists) are just in a bog standard bank account.
I'm with Orwell in thinking that I was poor this morning and I will be poor this evening. I see very little point in fighting this. I concede it's hardly a positive outlook.

Boring...
You did say that you'd rather join the hoodies than be part of the white middle class- which is intersting as what do you think the hoodies think you are?
Would they have you, or would they see you as part of the problem?

In other news, I saw but hastily muted the telly (got a receipt), when Michael Gove was pontificating about morality.
Just shy of £67k in 3 years. Nice work if you can get it etc etc.

It's taken me over an hour of trailing 15 minutes behind everyone else to finally get to the end of this thread. I had some thoughts about employment I was going to put forward, mainly about Bertrand Russell's idea of having a 4-hour working day which would abolish all unemployment but now you're arguing about tax and class so never mind...

I'm not sure you know what you're talking about and also you don't know what "people like you" means. You have loads of growing up to do.
I fucking told you, I don't have a telly.

Why have you let them into your flat if you hate them so much.
You have some very strange contradicting views.
Don't we all?
It's because there are two different truths, mate.
There are also things which could be done and thing which can be actually done.
There are also things like community, family, race and such which are intertwined. And what makes you think, that I'll be grassing on all my neighbourhood or on my own family?
What makes you think, that I like what I see?
Why don't you fbloody go and check on your neighbour and start from there? Oh, of course you live in a safe bubble completely detached from the real issues of the real people (I just hear this phrase all day today on here). -

My point was that because the bankers didn't burn cars (but ruined thousands, hundreds of thousands, millions?) of lives they're okay? That's a bit silly.
It is the job of the loan giver to judge the capability of the borrower to pay back the loan. In fact, they are paid and trained to do that. Blaming the people who haven't been trained to do it, and see it as a pay off if they do get it, is a bit silly. And that's just the ground floor of the problem. The mistakes made to try and make a quick buck go all the way up to the top.
Again, you are blaming the bankers but not the estate agents who arranged 110% loans or the dickheads that took on 110% loans?

Estate agents arrange loans?
I'm talking about the US.
I hate estate agents as much as the next guy, though. So don't worry.

Pathetic, but lucky.
