2011-08-13 - Exmouth Exodus

At the moment I think I'll be riding back to London. Does that sound insane?

In 2009, a guy I was riding with rode from London to Bristol, then did the EE, then rode back from Exmouth to London. I then met him again on the DD that year and we rode back together until I broke a spoke near Finchingfield and couldn't continue. He was doing LEL that year, too.

I thought it might. I think by this point if people haven't sorted train tickets/alternative insane routes back they're probably going to be out (unless they're rich and/or extremely determined). Ah well... that's why it will be better than the DD.

Have now booked train out from London. 16.00 Paddington-Bristol Temple Meads.

Exodous website has telephone booking no. for FGWestern, which, as others have mentioned, allows cycle reservation to be made at same time.

Undecided as to return journey plans. But want to book in advance (£££) Anyone booked for Exeter-London after midday, Sun?

I am booked on Exmouth-London at 18.24 on Sunday. Bit late but I fancied some lounging time.

The weather forecast is hilarious by the way. Don't want to put anyone off but I am glad my parents' house has showers, towels and spare clothes (which anyone breakfasting is welcome to borrow).

yes - if the current weather in Bristol is anything to go by then its likely to be rather wet and windy - although its been so changeable recently it could be clear skies the whole way...
