Libpool 2-1 down @ HT to Valarenga
Could they be on course to conceding 3 goals in 3 consecutive games against piss-poor opposition?
I think they've got Alfreton Town next game
Get yer facts straight we've now conceded 3 in our last 5 games
Saturday is Valencia tickets are still available for that mike.. Just saying
I think at least 1/2 the goals can be put down to defenders fitness

Arsenal bid for Mata turned down, probably because we offered only a conker, peice of string and a used tea bag for him.
-
• #37734
No. Because the "minimum bid" clause in his contract expired. There now follows a bidding war. No doubt Valencia fans are sick to death of "Mata to Arsenal". Much like every other fucker in the world is fed up of "Cesc to Barca".
-
• #37735
"Mata to Arsenal" has not been going on for over two years like "Cesc to Barca" and hardly with the blatant tapping up a with half of the barca squad and his dog willing cesc to go. Mata is now into his last year so I reckon bidding has probably gone in lower and possibly end up around the original minimum fee, maybe. Can't see arsenal going higher than 15-17 mil?
-
• #37736
Seeing as his minimum bid release clause was >20 <25 Million, I think you're talking bollocks.
-
• #37738
so what was the deal with arsenal fans booing at the weekend. Wenger in trouble this season? worth putting some money on him getting the sack?
-
• #37739
odds are 16/1 to be the next manager to get the sack. that isn't going to happen but those odds are shortening.
-
• #37740
harry redknapp 8/1 oooffff! 3rd favourite to leave (not just about getting sacked)

I wish the odds were shorter on Redknapp.

Dalglish is worth a punt at 50/1

I wish the odds were shorter on Redknapp.
and then you would appoint......? and he would buy.....? with the money from..........?
spurs fans went mad when Levy wanted the olympic stadium, your only chance of raising funds to compete unless the billionaire takeover happens. So now 14winters, it is time to reveal your paln for Spurs under your management after Harry is sacked tomorrow
-

Spurs have got a billionaire in the Bahamas, but the team is run within it's own means, y'know, like it's supposed to. It's a shame about not being able to get a new stadium on the cheap, but I'm sure something will get figured out.
Ancelotti's a free agent, and he'd be great. in terms of needing new players it all stays the same. Comolli's money ball program and Levy taking a high interest in transfers both in and out means that the policy doesn't change along with the manager. Again, not like other clubs.
Mark Hughes wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, but not an ideal choice. In the spirit of Spurs always bringing people back from the past Glenn Hoddle would certainly be a dream. Much like King Kenny, but with better hair.
I don't know why you're so Jumpy though clint, are you a Redknapp fan?

Clint Hearts Redknapps.

and lest we forget, Spurs had reached a level where they could compete only to have Man City come in and buy their position in the league.
Spurs, like Arsenal went about it the right way. If the Council had been as accommodating to Spurs as Islington had been to Arsenal, then Spurs would have already broken ground on the new stadium development long before any bid for the Olympic stadium arose.
It doesn't take a Sheikh or and oligarch to get up the league, just like it didn't take floating on the stock exchange for Man Utd to affirm their position.
Harry's a chump!

I'm a west Brom fan, that's the best run football club in the whole four divisions to you lot. Harry has given you your best seasons for a long time. actually made you respected by others. Remember, before Harry and to some extent Jol, Spurs were a bit of a laughing stock. The fans always went on about what a big team they were and then they would flirt with relegation and finish somewhere middling. You lived on your past reputation for a long time. Harry is the man who has delivered. Trying to keep Spurs in the top four is an impossible task and Spurs fans need to get realistic. If i was redknapp i would have left spurs this summer knowing that I wasn't going to be moaned at all year by the fans and finish top 7/6/5/ at best. harry is a shoe in for the england managers job at the moment but in 12 months time he could have blown it with a season of whinging cockneys to thank.
a note on your transfer policy with Levy getting involved. Never a good idea but a lot of teams and fans are stuck in the past with the notion that the manager should have total control over transfers. This is poor business. Managers last for on average 2 years i would guess. so these clubs are stuck in an endless cycle of having to change the team. A european model has the club set up to play in a certain way throughout , from the youth set up to the first team. Staff are recruited to coach that system. when one member leaves they are replaced by somebody who understands that they have to fit into the system. There will always be a team of people in charge of recruiting players and this will be presented to the manager for his seal of approval. If the manager is not happy then he can sit and talk to the transfer team. The manager has a say in all transfers in and out but cannot walk around demanding this that or the other and cannot negotiate contracts aka brian clough.
\it sounds like Levy is too close to the transfer policy but he has the right idea. Albion have operated this system for the past 10 years and the outcome has been 10 years of development with no major problems between managerial appointments. -

so far 14 you have given lots of reasons to stay off harry's back - the factors that are out of his control, the stadium, the policy of running a financially viable club. I wanted you to outline how you would mastermind sours domination of the top four. How you would do things differently to Harry. I'm still waiting

TBH, keeping 'arry away from any transfer dealings is best for both him (keeps him out of the nick) and the club (keeps 'em solvent).
