As a newcastle fan i couldnt give a shit who owns the club, im not old enough to remember a decent board (think ashley, Sheppard, hall etc.) all i want is transparency. i hope barton tells some home truths when he goes.

it's not for the want of trying, but "moneyball" defenders are tough to highlight. Liverpool had highlighted Jones (possibly correctly), and then sir went and got him just because he knew Liverpool were in for him.

at least Gerrard's injured. It's a shame Liverpool went in so early for all these midfielders too. Joe Barton and a free is the jewel in the bosman crown right now, and certainly a lot better than the other two British midfielders Liverpool signed.

Joey Barton is the victim of short sighted journalism. This is why he will never play for England again, and why he can now say whatever he likes, and chooses to do so.

He should be playing for England, but he doesn't. He's got great compusure, and reads the game extremely well. Think Scott Parker without the aimless running around and unfounded reputation.
