yeh i no but i just wanted to ask at first is there a spercific shimano part i need to buy? or just the attachment.
can i get the attachment with it threaded and it has to be the same width and thread type as the shimano bolt.
You need to go to a bike shop, there's no shame in it. But if you can't figure out how to mount a derailleur there's no chance in hell you're going to be able to set it up right. Gears, wheels and brakes, things that you should get set up properly.
Who is the hardest person on lfgss?
or,
If everyone on lfgss fought each other at the same time, who would be the last 10 standing?
1- 'scoble
2 - Lynx
3 - Wiganwill
4 - Hippy
5 - hamsandwichputs name on Brighton Bike Ride list, not to be seen anywhere on the ride, pops up on the thread on Monday and harps on about ride highlights....you just can't explain that
Oooooooooh, pissy
Give Bear Grylls a bell
You are arguably the weirdest bloke on this forum - FACT!
adds lynx to ignore....for the 3rd time
Not even seen a picture but I'm already terrified!
And greenracer, the 700x28 of these is great for fixed gear, durable and affordable.

Trial and error thats what i say:) i ordered a new bracket but i think i fucked the threads. Lets see if it works tho.

Vit Rando's are also renowned as the easiest tyre to get on a rim of them all.
Our Lord Scoble has spoken on the matter at length.

folding or ridged? slick or knobbly?
-
• #15561
whichever the cheapest.

Trial and error is great, until you fuck threads (costing you more money), terminally buckle a wheel (by attempting to true it), set up your gears and they don't work, tweak them and they get worse, tweak them again and they get worser, tweak them again and they don't work at all, then take them to a shop who sort them out and have a chuckle about how badly wrong you had it.... or setting up your own brakes when you have no idea what you're doing and having them fail on you when you need them the most....
really, it's great doing things yourself, but unless you have a vague idea what to do, you're putting yourself at danger.
then again, you can find instructional videos on youtube for just about anything, so maybe at least have a look there...

when in doubt, GO TO A BICYCLE SHOP, while bicycle are simple machine, they're easy to fuck up if you're not careful, such as a stripped bottom bracket which render your frame useless.

price is really good. Ive seen some peoples wheels where they are quite fat and seem to cover more on the road as compared to others i have and there like a knife edge. would you say they are like the the fatty ones?

do you want fatty ones?

• #15573
The tyre will hold the inner tube, it will grip onto the road, it will help you to be in motion, this is all you need to know.
-
• #15574
yes asthetically more pleasing to the eye.
-
• #15575
huh? that's going against the grain a little.... maybe refer to to 1024 pages of porn before making any rash decisions on what's pleasing to the eye?
If you want fat ones, then order the 700x35... be warned however that the old road frame you are converting probably will not have clearance for them. neither will your brakes.
^That was a great day
