is very nice!
tubs?

Yes to the tubs...........
I have got to work today but just want to get out on it.......I can feel a half day coming on if it continues to be sunny!!
If someone told you it was a six month old bike, you would not disbelieve them....It is that good.
Very happy ;o)
I also picked up an old Claud Butler Dalesman with original brochure from the same chap......That will do my laden touring duties instead of my Orrell.....I won't mind if I get a few dings or scrapes on that as the Orrell is minty.....

like the look of the freewheel as well, should be capable of some big climbs on that!

The headset in white keeps the white flowing throughout the whole bike.
Unfortunately I forgot about the seatpost bolt so I will be sanding it down. -

it's best not to be defensive but to take the comment with grace and admit that spraying over the headset was wrong.

How old are you Alex? Anyway, good work. When I was younger, I mainly broke everything that I tried to work on and ended up down the bike shop.
Looks like you are having fun. I hope you learn lots during your project.

I've got the original Regina Americana that was fitted too..... The old boy fitted that to help him up some hills in cornwall apparently.....:0)

• #48613
Well I have just turned 14! Loads of people don't realise...
I thought I was doing pretty well for a teenager and it is my first time.

Finished this for a rather pleased 'customer' (who was responsible for the colour scheme, I should add). It certainly stands out. She's a big fan of her own bike, it seems.
Quite happy with it, as it's my first build from scratch.

my current build, fancy some drops soon, features make-do brake and paints very tatty, i'll get round to respraying at some point- maybe it belongs in the rat thread... changed the ratio now im back up in north yorkshire

i love the detail in the metal. just gives it that edge on plainer bikes.

I like that!
Drops, brown cloth tape and an old drop-bar brake lever if it were mine. Tasty.

that Tommasini is lush as hell, looks almost new! +1 the block looks like a mountain jobby, 12-28 or so? Have one thats 12-28 or 13-30 one of the two, if I go touring again I will certainly be fitting it, so useful and easier than finding a triple crankset that you would want on a retro-bike.
J-rok - do not respray, instead, put more wear on it, rat is the new prOn
Today finally found the adapter plates to turn turbo trainer into 700c/27" so spent a few hours on it with abig mirror tweaking riding position, knee pain now sorted, had saddle nearly an inch too far forward and a few degrees of nose up tilt.

Thanks man, I can't believe my luck getting it..... I need to do a bit of tinkering with the seatube, swap the bottle cages for aesthetically better ones, change that cassette to the regina and get my pedals on..... It is as good as the pictures show.... I have found o e tiny mark, the size of a pinprick..... And that might be dirt! Looks like no wear at all on the drivetrain. Even the fucking White tape is original!
