Is it a Raleigh frame? I've never seen lugs like that on one before. Seems a shame to have gone to the effort to get the correct decals and then put them all over the shop?
Otherwise a good effort -

What do you think of the project though?
Shame to repaint it - I think the original job was much more interesting. But painting your own stuff is great fun and very satisfying, so well done, and have fun riding it.

Nice.
Tis a shitty pic. Just come back from a test ride. They seem light and stiff for the low cost.
Novatec low flange hubs with hollow axles.
Lightweight butted spokes.
Alu nips.
Cxp33 rims.
Veloplugs.
latex inners.
Veloflex pave/master tyres. -

I wouldn't even says that the CXP33 is light (compare to the Open Pro especially), but they are pretty stiff.

spent the whole of my summer budget on new back wheel (velocity deepV on blb flip flop) and chain
gone for the stealthy vibe!...
next up is new crankset... I'm looking cheep and GOOOD any suggestions??
at the moment I'm looking at the miche primato -

ARGH stupid html i can't ever get this to work!!!
-
• #48588
Thats a nasty saddle angle you have
-
• #48589
Is that velocity deep v? jesus they look so skinny nowadays.
probably worth getting foot retention too, best spend money on that than a new crankset.

THANKS OZ!
seat angle has been changed since this picky and straps bought!
i think its an optical illusion the front is a hSon formation face which is slightly bigger!

Not much in it at the wheel rim with the build listed ..
CXP33 quoted 470g + Veloplugs 5g = 475g
Open Pro 435g + Velox rim tape 16g (which I've assumed you'd use?) = 451g
or put it another why the difference between an open pro and a KinLin XR-200 rim

Veloflex pave/master tyres.I used those same hubs for my last wheel build. The cone lock nuts cracked after 40 miles. Perhaps keep an eye on them.

at the moment I'm looking at the miche primatoMiche Primato is neither cheap nor good.
SRAM S300 is cheaper and better

they pretty much cost the same on the net...

Except that the SRAM includes the BB, and is about a million times better than the Miche

stiffer, lighter and all that bell an' whistle.

Just rubbed one out to that raleigh track ti. superb.
Everything is epics, except when the frame got painted they went over the seat post bolt? Wheels work for me, as saddle, cog, chain, headset, seatpost all hint at a retro track racer; updated.

I figure the little extra stiffness, and aeroness is worth the little extra weight, as I ride the fixed out f town (ie. not so stop/start). There's probably feck all in it, really though.

I'm a little too big boned to be using XR-200 on what is essentially a training bike :(

Cheers, I'll keep that in mind. I dismantled the old hubs for spares. So hopefully I have the bits to replace and failiures.
Good to know though.I was dreading the build because I was using Thaiwans answer to DT Revolutions. Which I've struggled with in the past. But the spokes tensioned up so easily, that I took the verniers to them, out of disbelief.

Due to some luck and stupidity in equal doses, I have just aquired this....
Tommasini Super Prestige 1985 in immaculate condition
Columbus SLX, Dura Ace 7400 chainset, mechs, brakes, campag headset, hubs, seatpin, BB......
I will need to sell my Tourer now, as Mickey Mouse is not fucking cheap.........
I couldn't pass this up though.
Pedals will be changed, as will the bottle cages....this is how it has sat for years.
