A little under-ambitious especially with a SW tail-wind

9-10pm departure
18 mph rolling pace
6.6 hours
2 hours for food, mechanical and natural breakes
So 9 hours to get there with sunrise at 5 am, so ride into the riding sun planned
Thats my rough targetI'll be switching between an hour of riding and an hour of break. 9mph average speed. See you on Monday.

Wow! That's a pretty neat shuttle service (referring to the sole bay cheese people, not the aye-aye). They'll make some cyclists very happy, I'm sure. I will probably be hanging around on the beach though, as my personal team bus and crew will be turning up at some point.

I've been lurking on this thread for the last week and goddamn it, your collective enthusiasm/bravado has inspired me to do this! Having not planned this, I don't have a coach ticket so will try and ride back to Ipswich.
I'll be hoping to meet some of you and put faces to names... look for the Chinese guy with the blue Condor and Carradice, looking forward to bringing up the rear in style!!!

I don't have a LFGSS sweater, but I'd like one to show my support. Is there any way I could buy one in time for the ride?
-
• #1872
doubt it.

Apologises for self publicity but found a link to my Dunrun2010 with a dog on here...
This year, 2011, 2xdogs 120 miles and hopefully £1200 raised for famine relief in Ethiopia.
Peppa the very bouncy 13 week old spaniel will be joining Moppet the 13 year old spaniel on their specially adapted cargo Filibus bicycle from London Fields to Dunwich in Suffolk- their "cycler" Chris Lovitt hopes to raise £1200 for famine relief in Ethiopia. To donate please go to www.justgiving.com/dunrun2011
The charity Maternity Worldwide has it main initiative in Gimbie in western Ethiopia and works to reduce mortality in childbirth and bring sustainable development to the surrounding villages. The recent famine in the horn of Africa especially affects new born children and pregnant women and the money raised will help reduce the affects of famine.
