    and a saddle bag.

  • I'm riding with a rack Ed what's your point? Oh and I hope some of you guys don't mind me riding with you. I promise to hand out sweets.

spenceey, it would be an honour to ride with you (as well as all of you, you lots are the pinnacle of humanity).

  • kris are you riding in the party peleton (registered trademark of Shinigami)?

I will have a bottle of vodka on me.
I'm still not 100% sure I can make it, though. I'm skint right now, so can't take a cab/train home if my knees decides to stop cooperating with me.

  • Hello all,

My plan is to be at London Fields from 19.30, leaving at 20.30. I don't have a forum jersey or cap so will be wearing my distinctive school team kit (a 10 year old's jersey- I'm hoping it'll fit better by the time I get to the coast). Here's a pic of me on the beach last year and my bike.

In terms of the millions of posts about luggage and food options etc, I had a small rucksack last year and it was absolutely fine- was v glad that I took an extra layer of clothes to put on when sitting on the beach at the end.

Wish nelaii could come :( (but she has leant me her sealskin socks). I will also have a friend's Hope light which is like a car headlight.

    See youse all tomorrow!!

  • Apologises for self publicity but found a link to my Dunrun2010 with a dog on here...

This year, 2011, 2xdogs 120 miles and hopefully £1200 raised for famine relief in Ethiopia.

Peppa the very bouncy 13 week old spaniel will be joining Moppet the 13 year old spaniel on their specially adapted cargo Filibus bicycle from London Fields to Dunwich in Suffolk- their "cycler" Chris Lovitt hopes to raise £1200 for famine relief in Ethiopia. To donate please go to www.justgiving.com/dunrun2011

The charity Maternity Worldwide has it main initiative in Gimbie in western Ethiopia and works to reduce mortality in childbirth and bring sustainable development to the surrounding villages. The recent famine in the horn of Africa especially affects new born children and pregnant women and the money raised will help reduce the affects of famine.

Will you be ok with those doggies in the rain?

  • I'm riding with a rack Ed what's your point?

    Look at this shit, just look at it;

cheap lightweight pump strapped to rack, Carradice Super C racktop bag, bottle cage mount on stem cap, Hope Vision 2 light, and soon a framebag for sweetie and food.

Trying to think whether I should take my handlebar bag, or rely on Scott's Garmin (which is pretty much the riskiest thing I'll take).

  • I don't have a forum jersey or cap

Oh, I have the jersey alright, but I will not be wearing it for aesthetic reasons.

  • Ed, is that Gangsta?!

  • I will be riding on this:

and wearing my shiny new Rapha Galibier Jersey. See you on the road people, by the way was there any consensus reached as to the preferred forum spoke mounted glowstick colour?

  • Bobbo, I am in love with your bike, and your Jersey.

  • Thank you very much Ed

  • I don't have a LFGSS sweater, but I'd like one to show my support. Is there any way I could buy one in time for the ride?

The best way to show your support would be to have this printed on a t-shirt and also tattooed on your face:

  • Will you be ok with those doggies in the rain?

Rain- now who is cursing my third dunrun... fortunately springer spaniels, unlike their cyclcer are a hardy bunch... plus a couple of cheap sportdirect karrrimor children cycle jackt should do it....

  • I've been lurking on this thread for the last week and goddamn it, your collective enthusiasm/bravado has inspired me to do this! Having not planned this, I don't have a coach ticket so will try and ride back to Ipswich.

I'll be hoping to meet some of you and put faces to names... look for the Chinese guy with the blue Condor and Carradice, looking forward to bringing up the rear in style!!!

I think you'll find 'bringing up the rear' is my job tomorrow. Get to the front! :-)

That's why I'm here. Wasn't it crispin Glover who made use of the support vehicle last year? Your knee gives up. You call me. You're tired and can't go on.? You call me. You have stuff needing transportation to the beach? You meet me at the start. You have sweets or food in your bag that you can't eat or give away...ill oblige....don't not start because you can't finish.

  • ^ high fives all round. I'm going shipping tomorrow for a jersey so don't go buying them all.

  • blimey, do you go on all the ships to find some nice sailor to exchange your shirt with or something?

  • South Heads! Meet up at Lambeth County Fair (5:30ish) and mosey up to London Fields?

Just to say, still so up for this. See you all then
