YAY, sounds good.
On another note, our lease is up at the end of June and we've just had an email from the estate agent saying they want to increase our rent by £350/month - thats right THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY POUNDS per month.
I might have to leave Brixton :(

Harsh, but might be worth negotiating with them - It'll still increase by some but they won't want the hassle of moving new tenants in so they should agree on something more reasonable.
Renting in the UK is a joke.

Christ, move out and find a non agent managed house. Friends of ours have just got a 2 bed flat in poet's corner for 700pcm.

So, is that a lucky find or are we gonna find similar priced flats if we start looking? :-P (I'm also currently looking for a place around brixton / camberwell!)

Do you already live in the area? That sort of helps...

Snowster - what was that street party at the back of mine/end of your road yesterday? Rain kinda killed it...

Ah, no that was the Mervan Road Big Lunch thing. Our neighbour was roasting a whole sheep.
Someone got shot up on Tulse Hill last night; which brings the local fortnightly murder count to 3 and 3 other serious assaults. You'd never know if you just saw the Granville Arcade world of Brixton.

The big squat on Coldarbour Lane's being evicted as we speak, big OB presence... That's why the helicopter's been buzzing overhead all morning... Lots of dejected looking people out on the street clutching their belongings... Sad... :[

Its fucking disgraceful, there has been no mention whatsoever of any kind of help thats going to be offered to the evicted residents, the very people which having looked after the building for 10 years or so, its the least Lambeth could do for them.

^ big society indeed. so long as by 'society' you mean 'property owners' and 'absentee landlords'
-
• #272
Fucking tory scum. Bleak.
-
• #273
I went past later in the afternoon and saw loads of riot-geared private security types leering out of the building's windows at local passers-by... Disgraceful... Coppers guarding the front door but doing nothing about it...
Money moves in, everyone else needs to move out... -
• #274
^ What, pray tell, are the coppers supposed to do about it. What goes on inside the building now is the business of the owners. It is private property after all. Is leering an offence?

Oh yes, your nicked.
I has a hustlebucks t-shirt that I bought from that very shop. It's noice.
