  • Just got a ticket for going though a red light,(Bishopsgate) although I dont believe I did!!.Any how, does anyone have any experience of what happens if you dont pay the fine?

  • I did get a ticket about 6 years ago and just ignored it I gave the correct name and address nothing happened. So has anyone ever gone to court over a ticket for a red light? the police are douchbags, they said they asked me to pull over verbally as I rode past them but I did not hear them , I did see them but did not hear anything and why would I go through a red if they were right there. It was a busy road im concentrating on whats in front nothing else.

  • it's 6 years ago.

    nobody cycle back then.

  • Speak for yourself, noob.

  • so none has any experience of ignoring a ticket and the consequences???

  • why do you not believed you didn't jump a light?

  • timing

  • I've had cops on bishopsgate accuse me of jumping reds when the damn thing was still green if they cared to look. Just because lemming pedestrians are walking into traffic doesn't make it a red light.

Just argue. Deny flat out that it was red. They will go away. Or in my case be told to stop being a dick by their sergeant.

  • ha did he really say stop being a dick?

  • so none has any experience of ignoring a ticket and the consequences???

For the sake of £30 this might be a poor experiment to carry out yourself.

Result a) get away scot free
Result b) receive court summons, get fined £500*

If you accepted the ticket at the time then would that not qualify as an admission of guilt? <not a rhetorical question btw.

    *for example

  • ^ paging mr crowe...

  • Pissing with rain, brakes merely a hint of their operformance in the dry, and the herione of this story sails though five reds and abuses a lorry driver as she rides the wrong way up a one way street. On form she then goes through another 2 reds, where I turn right. Optomist or bad mannered?

  • I believe the term you're looking for is 'stupid'.

  • £1

  • I don't think I get the point of this thread. Are you saying that because it was raining you couldn't control your bike and that as a result of this you rode in a twattish / unsafe manner?

Do say if I have missed something.

Edit: If you, Grandini, saw this, then I stand by it being twattish riding, but it's not you. Apologies.

  • where does the Optometrist come into it? was she blind?

  • I read it that the OP was talking about someone else.

  • The thread title should read 'Optimist or Bad Mannered?' - the op is posing a question. He witnessed a woman on bike do what he described in his post, and wants to know if you think - She is an Optimist or if you think she is 'Bad Mannered'. I agree with #2.

  • [QUOTE=Grandini;2498859] On form she then goes through another 2 reds, where I turn right. QUOTE]

op saw someone else do this..

    edit; what they said

  • where does the Optometrist come into it? was she blind?

That might explain it - in which case she is extremely lucky as well.

  • "sails though five reds and abuses a lorry driver as she rides the wrong way up a one way street"

Please explain how it is possible to go through a red light if you're going the wrong way on a 1 way street? Surely there are no lights for traffic that shouldn't be there in the first place.

But what if the one way street was after the five red lights? What then?

    Edit: PS, RED!!
