But what if the one way street was after the five red lights? What then?
Edit: PS, RED!!
"sails though five reds and abuses a lorry driver as she rides the wrong way up a one way street"
as she rides…

as she rides…
Yers. This is one of those situations in which proper punctuation would probably help sentence clarity, but where the meaning can still be derived from the context. Innit.

or is it the fault of the government that have made our local communities so dangerous that some riders only feel safe on the pavement ?
the answer is yes it is the fault of the government (and the mpv makers).
so i think your concerns would be better directed to your mp or local councillor.
do let us know their response.

Frightfully sorry to have caused such confusion through the poverty of my written English. In my youth I was just called, "thick"; in this enlightened modern age, I have been diagnosed as being dyslexic, but thick probably still stands as a reasonable descriptor.
The heroine was not me. She was neither blind, since she avoided the lorry going about its lawful business, nor dumb, since she was vocal in her abuse of said driver. She was confident in her right to cycle where she wanted to in contravention of the laws of the land, or even in consideration of others. I had forgotten to report the pavement riding and the scattering of pedestrians.
I think that I agree with finger jockey. She is stupid. And in her stupidity, should she be downed, a community will have its life changed for ever. -

So the other day I got caught RLJing by the City of London Police and received a £30 fine (near the occupy lsx camp - they're watching everything like hawks down there).
HOWEVER. Along with it I was presented with a "Road Safety Road Show Voucher".
This essentially says if I go to a reeducation camp 'for at least 40 minutes" on Friday morning they'll waive the fine. Will anyone be joining me?

Got fined 30 quid last Friday. RLJ'd ped crossing west of the Chancery LAne T jct with Hi Ho.
My fault, I was too much of a jackass.
I hope they spend the money on some shiny new guns to continue enforcing pointless laws.
I know theres a broad spectrum of people reading this forum so this is aimed at the City Police:
Why not, if a junction is clear, waive fines for cyclists who are harming no one, saving overstretched police resources for crushing more serious crimes. . .?
Obviously I do not RLJ if doing so puts others or myself in danger. I may err on the side of depressive at times, but I'm not suicidal I enjoy riding my bike far too much. Something tells me this roads been travelled before though (its been a few years since this forums been online - I never claimed to be an original thinker) but hey, fuck it, I'll mention it again.

Oh hell, we're going to get that kind of crap on here aren't we?
I'll have to write a script that detects bullcrap and then shows those users a forum full of discussion on unicorns or something.
32 pages of crap could have been avoided!

Rather interesting
http://road.cc/content/news/48053-number-london-cyclists-fined-red-light-jumping-almost-doubles
2.3% of the number of cars getting caught...
-
• #1724
Would a cyclists-only light sequence help, I wonder? If there's a green bike light that comes on before the main green light surely there'd be no excuse about it being safer to jump it? Would give the wobblers time to get back to the left as well without cars trying to past them.
NB I don't actually RLJ myself so I have no stake in this concept other than "what if"

I think a malignant council employee is very slowly changing the timing of the Nags head roundabout traffic lights.
It used to be that if you started from the ASL on green coming off the OKR, turning right then left onto Great Dover street you would sail round the corner quite nicely.
Now however you have to be trackstanding on the line, and go on the green like a greyhound out of a trap, and still you get through on yellow at the next lights.
The phasing of the lights seemed designed to increase congestion- is there a public consultation on the lights there that the council has a vested interest in going a certain way?
