I use multi release, recommend them to anyone trying out clipless. Now have pedals cranked up to max, very rarely come out unwantedly.
Plastic surround on the spd pedals gives you the feeling of a platform pedal for spds. They are still awful to ride in normal shoes as the spd part is raised. Normal spds give me a hotspot, and don't feel as stable.

I've only been using SPDs for a month now and was surprised how quick you get used to them. Multi release are good to start on for those HOLYSHIT moments when you panic so you can just pull your foot up hard to get out of the pedals and get foot down or whatever.
I got my m450 pedals for free so went for them but if I has the money I'd get the platform ones, like snoops says they feel a bit more stable which always helps.

I've just gone for the middle SPDs from platforms. Played twice. My game feels significantly quicker, although my Brighton peers may disagree! Haven't adjusted them at all and I've had no problems with popping out/getting back in yet. The dang things are so small that pedal strike just isn't an issue. And they were cheap!

Wah.
http://www.bigshotbikes.com/polo-bikes.htmlEpic pedal strike?
-
• #5456
Look bizarre. Wonder how they'd ride...
Pedal strike shouldn't be a great issue, the BB is above the line of the axles, rather than below as you'd find on 700c/26'' -

Do you think they've actually made all those different colours or have just photoshopped it?

Can't see any pixels.

I love their claim about being good for anyone from 5' to 6'2, I'm hardly 6'2 but I'm pretty sure my knees would be interfeering with the bars...
That's pretty minor, isn't it just a copy of that other small wheeled polo bike? Forgotten what it's called.
Other than cheap components, what do you think is actually wrong with it?

That's the one. Cheers Tom.

I do wonder how they ride, im not so convinced at how good they would actually be for polo

i got some wellgo multi release. played on them once didnt really like them and used my old spd's instead, yours for a 10.

They look retarded, like a zimmer frame with 20" wheels.

Can anyone reccomend a decent 1" threaded fork for polo use. Something with v-brake mounts etc..

eBay...

v-brake mounts etc..
Not sure what 'etc' is but what size wheels?
If 700c then you're pretty much only going to get a touring fork. They're £35 new from sjs and the like, or you should be able to get one cheap second hand occasionally.
If 26" then there are a lot more on eBay.
that bankrupt cycles store on eBay has a lot of forks. Drop him a PM and ask him. Or do what I did and buy another bike with 1 1/8th HT.

There's a whole thread about this, some of the poloistas joined in.
Synopsis: Most poloers use Time (I think) those that don't use SPDs. If SPDs make sure you don't get the multi directional release ones.
Mrak thought he was super tough clipping out on an up pull, turns out they're supposed to do that. lol.Edit, yes the plastic side is for non cleat shoes.
Good luck.
(SPDs ftw)do we have a linky?

Around page 3-4 of this thread
http://www.lfgss.com/thread9986-3.htmlThis one but could be useful too
http://www.lfgss.com/thread8174-4.htmlI think I might make the move to clipless polo too.
Speedplay need a road shoe sole for the 3 bolt cleat pattern. I guess you could retrofit a road sole into a set of skate shoes. I use spd's and the only problem I get is from having worn cleats.
