I think it's just practice. Eventually it's second nature. When I ride without cleats (running shoes on flat pedals) I still twist my foot when lifting it off.

John I've got a pair of Avenir pedals for sale if you're interested. £20.
Cleats & screws are still in the box.
I can bring them to Peckham tomorrow evening if you're going to be there. These are nice, Kev... DX?

I'm using spd for 4/5 years on my mtb in the woods and therefore I do not need to quik release often, sometimes in sandy corners, that works without problems but releasing it really quickly for example shooting or reaching a ball seems not to go in 1 solid movement

Ah, in those situations I don't usually clip out (if I do, it's accidental). I assumed you were talking about emergency bailing.

Dammit, I'd have these off you for a new build, but I probably won't be at Souths again for a long time :(

Maybe interested. Anyone know will 35's fit on a pomp? I know on one says 32 max but it looks to me like there's more room? Also need an 18t or bigger freewheel if anyone has one to spare? I have a set of cheap vbrakes/handlebars/other stuff to trade

Yep, I'm running 38 Marathon Plus front and rear on my pomp, as did Gormley. That's with the original pompino front fork obviously.
The rear just fits, it's pretty close to the seatube, loads of space between it and the seatstays. The front has loads of space, could probably go bigger.

Thats settled then, Emmett you have a pm.

I have a 18t freewheel. Cheap and hard to get off but as far as I know it works.
It's yours as long as Kev doesnt want it back.

can't wait to see that built, so nice.
I was trying shimano xt spd from my mtb on the polo bike a couple of months ago but I didn't find it very easy to clip out quick (falling, etc.) I adjusted them to "easy release" but it was still shit.
Are Time Atac in these fast release moments better?
