maybe we should organise a team ride to help get those miles up?
-
• #153
even though we are top, as i suspect the barclays roadies will be doing a few miles over the weekend
-
• #154
ha, someone on bikeradar made graphs of their progress
-
• #155
As much as I love graphs, I am not getting involved.

Laner, can you link to this? I don't understand what this is meant to show, and I can't find it on Bike Radar. Ty

^^^ What's next, powerpoint presentations of their strategy with in-depth analysis of key techniques to maximise individuals output outlined against key performance indicators based on experience and fitness level? All a little bit middle management for something that's meant to be fun no?

Goddammit we're back to third, but still with the most miles :(
-

Just spotted that too we have done 400 miles more than UBS but have 400 fewer points than them :(

Mind you sandwich man has cycled 4107 miles in just over 7 days! how come he has not been kicked off for cheating yet?

I think we should recruit him to our team. I hear he loves sandwiches, so I'll send him a platter and see if he'll switch to a fixed gear.

Did some reasonable miles yesterday, annoyingly 6pt is still beating me by a mile!
However, yesterday's mileage is subject to verification due to 'detours' so may well go up :)
Graphs? Bikeradar are lamers...
Surely if our competitors (i.e. UBS and Barclays) are limited to 49 members like us we just need to keep getting the miles in, then we will overtake, no?

• #164
is there a quick way to compare personal mileages, or are you just using me as a target? feeling mildly victimised :(
-
• #165
i just checked all the elites to see who had the most.

• #166
meh. track on the way home followed by hill reps and some pootling, just to maintain my lead then. annoying incentive to keep riding.
-
• #167
You just click on other people's profiles as laner said. Mileage closeness is just coincidental, not planned. I'm going on holiday on Saturday anyway so there's no way I'll be able to keep up after that :)

the whole "tonnes of CO2 saved" thing is really bugging me. I wouldn't go out in the car on a sunday to arbitrarily up some mileage total, so it's hardly more cycle miles is fewer driving miles. but whatever, all good. I'm liking the cupcake total.
-
• #169
I have been using the cupcake total as an excuse to gorge myself on cupcakes and pastries. My girlfriend is not happy about this as she is currently on a diet and accuses me of "rubbing it in".

stick her on the bike, get her on the team and keep her pedalling. soon all the cupcakes she desires will be hers!
-
• #171
Unfortunately she is currently receiving treatment for a bulging disc and she finds that cycling makes her back worse :(

Don't play so rough

Last year some people put the whole mileage in lump right at the start
I should sign up to this I guess

How many pints per cupcake?

Ooooohhh! Thats a cracking question.
I didn't do big miles, but I did my first miles, so at least we get the bonus points for that. Have to admit that it was geared but at least some of them were with the trailer and there aint no way I'm getting that up a steep hill loaded without gears!
