one mans junk is another mans treasure.
That's all that matters. My bike is far from special but I do like it.

just dont colour code it too much will, coloured chains and tyres make a bike look shite. the visp you posted from velospace is actually pretty decent looking. i have a suggestion as well, if you're ordering a visp from ebay you might as well order some cheap chinese carbon bling to go with it :) also, hold out for bargains, you could get a very good second hand crankset on here for the same price as a new crankset like the miche advanced or sugino messenger. i just sold some sugino 75's for the price of some new messengers.

Will you clearly lust for these bikes so unless your gonna cough up for a Nelson or a Dolan (which are much better), just go for it. Enjoy.
haha. rather a fool satisfied than a wiseman disatisfied, (when it comes to bikes). thanks, i will.
at least i dont want a create type thing, like my friends do. -

dammit, i see no coloured tyres and chains. the penguin bike is awesome, but i think you'll agree that a red visp with red tyres and a red chain isnt awesome.

put the extra 20 or 30 quid in and get some stronglight ones. from people's reviews the lascos are made from cheese.

cranks are the one thing I would spend a little more on, get the right crank and you could keep it for years.

• #46315
what about fsa gimondi or andel track?
-
• #46316
andel every time, don't think they'll suit a visp though personally. i'd be tempted by the genetic tiba cranks, i had them on my visp and they were fine.

7710's in 165, accept no substitute
-
• #46318
i'd probably have bought a visp a few months ago for a beater if the dropouts weren't so incredibly fugly.

they're both pretty period-looking cranksets. go for the stronglights and if you dont like the logos polish them up.
-
• #46320
WILLPALMER, when you get the visp make sure one of the first things you do it unscrew the tensioning screw in the dropouts and grease it before screwing it back in. It's not stainless.

Will...
buy decent cranks, a good sealed bottom bracket and sealed bearing wheels...
These things won't cost you a great deal more but are worth while in the long run and you're guaranteed more time enjoying your ride.
