Just had a bit of a garage find. Its a kalkhoff frame(anyone know of them?), with campag hubs, simplex rear gears and sillstar chainset. I'm assuming the wheels are not original, as they seem higher spec than the rest of the bike. I think I'll just clean it up and get it rolling for my brother as its more his size than me and hes been hounding me for a run about bike. Only problem with is the front derailuer is missing.
I dont know a lot about maintenance of gears but I guess it shouldnt be too hard to pick up a front deraileur to work.

Nice...except for the mudguard on the rear.
If your face is going to be covered with all the mud in England, why bother protecting your seat post and arse? They both wash easy enough surely?

Currently have this bike http://www.lfgss.com/thread63829.html in bits. Groupset's had a proper clean up and some new parts hopefully getting delivered next week.
New: Seat, bartape, hoods, cableset, tyres, pedals
Can't wait to get it all together.

Bulgarian that iswithout trying to hi-jack the thread, are there any decent cycling/record shops in sofia? (question asked assumes that you are from/have lived in sofia for a significant period of time and appreciate a vinyl record.....)
any hints/tips are much, much appreciated. off with the girlfriend (she's bulgarian) to varna for summer holiday, so thought i might try and pick up some cheap bits if they're available...

Bought a retro titanium one piece bar/stem combo (£35 ebay) for my build. I'm aiming for a real minimalist look with a practical feel. Will try these, if they look shite I'll sell them on:
They are 554mm. I'd like to saw them down to maybe around 440mm, not too short, but they are currently a bit too long I think.
