  • Something new to tinker with...

    :brofist:

  • I like how elevated your seatpost is ;)

a lot of the lynskeys are built up with a lot of seatpost

  • Nice...except for the mudguard on the rear.

If your face is going to be covered with all the mud in England, why bother protecting your seat post and arse? They both wash easy enough surely?

can i call upon you to wash my arse?

  • They are 554mm. I'd like to saw them down to maybe around 440mm, not too short, but they are currently a bit too long I think.

Leave them long, install them, ride it as much as possible before deciding if you want to cut it shorter.

might be a painful mistake if you end up finding them too short.

  • yeah 440 is pretty narrow! how tall are you? how short are you?!

  • how tall are you?

    He's five foot ty nan.

  • yeah 440 is pretty narrow! how tall are you? how short are you?!

I'm 6 foot 2... Was just thinking 440 because that's how wide my drops were, but yeah, might take ed's advice and leave them long before I make any drastic decisions.

    Nuknow, seriously?

  • I'm also 6'2 ... trust me don't cut them down, i got some bars based on same premise, my drops are 42 sure 44 will be plenty wide, no way they were unuseable. (maybe if I were wheeling my bike down brick lane they would have been suitable, or fond of feeling t-rexual... but not for any actual riding.)

  • I'm 6 foot 2... Was just thinking 440 because that's how wide my drops were

On drops, your arms are outside the width of the bars. To achieve the same with flat bars, you'd need a good 5cm extra on each end. At 554mm, they would seem to need no trimming at all.

  • Thanks for the advice! They do look quite nice as they are tbh, and I'm trying to prioritise function/feel while still making a beautiful bike.

They are NOS and supposedly pretty rare, made by Kolo in the early 90s. No idea what they're worth though.

I'm also 6'2. Should we start a gang?

    ...feeling t-rexual...

    Pics or doesn't make sense.

You've been listed as a Tynan alias.
    Deal with it.

  • Bugger. Surrounded by lanky folk

    run away

  • I'm also 6'2. Should we start a gang?

    6th foot floor crew?

    T-rexual

    *note narrow handlebar grip

How about I come to east beers this wednesday. If I'm not tynan you can buy me a beer.

  • I have never met Tynan, to me he's a bear. No one has actually, only Will maybe, shortly.
Anyway, there's no way, you showing up at Easties, that I could say: "shit, it's not him...".

  • Well I was planning on coming by anyway so I might as well say hi while I'm at it.

    Why is he a bear??

I know, and if you had interpreted the smiley corectly you have noticed that my bike (the Radon futher up the page) has the same thomson seatpost also elevated into the sky, but I guess the funny little innocent coincedens is ruined now.

There's a photo of that damn flouncer surfacing around the internet, how do I know it's him? cause I took the damn photo.

  • My Magic Goat. Nothing special but I quite like it.

    Love it!

Is that saddle as unforgiving as it looks?

  • OK, who wants to race?

Don't ask why but there is now a Dolan track tandem in the house.

Most of the essential parts were included. Couldn't imagine starting with only a frame.

Just had to purchase a stem and shim for the stoker. Why are real stoker stems so expensive?

With RPM's blessing I'd like to bring to HH and let anyone who wants to ride it thrash out some laps on the velodrome.

  • That is AWESOME! I want a go on that!

  • Just looking at that scares me. How fucking quick is that going to be?

  • ^^^I'd be up for that.

  • I've only ever been on a tandem once, and that was as a drunk stoker, with a drunk but speedy pilot, on a dark country lane with no lights.

Somehow that Dolan looks even scarier. I ***really ***want a go.
