I'm out, Pete is in. Might blitz it in a day, but won't be joining in for the revelry.

What's the campsite you're booking? Can you have fires?
-
• #130
Skully, you can relight my fire

What's the campsite you're booking? Can you have fires?
Roebeck Farm. I have a booking for a tent on Saturday and Sunday night which I no longer need due to being moved into the tipi, do you want it Skully?
Fires and Barbecues
Barbecues and controlled campfires are allowed on site, but they must be kept off the ground and burned in a safe and controlled manner at all times.
Barbecues and campfires must be overseen by a competent adult at all times. -

Fox, I'll take the pitch as they've not replied to confirm me. If that's okay with you.

Kattiep and friends are now unable to join us so we need to find some new buddies for smiff in tipi 2.
Any takers?

I am so what gutted I can't make this anymore. A switcheroo of my folks plans means I can't go meet them/the relos the following weekend as planned, so I is off to Italy this weekend instead.
Again - sorry :( had such a nice time last year.
T4 - hamsandwich and John might still be keen to go, but now I'm not going, I'm not going to organise them. They're big boys. Fill the teeepeeee with whoever you can.braker, I don't doubt that smiff will fill his harem and there will be peeled grapes being passed from mouth to mouth.

Can I grab a spot in the tipi? Had planned on camping but a tipi and grapes sounds infinitely preferable

The Randonee route has no hills greater than 10% and that only for short sections so should be possible on reasonably high geared fixed. Wind will usually be behind for the long S Coast section when going anti-clockwise. If you want the bigger hills you will need to go off-route - can be challenging. Having done the route a few times on geared bikes I will try it tomorrow on a 44/18 fixed. See you 1st May.

So I was thinking that maybe we need to have a bit of a plan about getting to IoW (train/ferry etc)?
Camp site is 3 miles from the ferry, just outside Ryde. I guess we can pick up provisions in Ryde on the way through?
Anyone got any thoughts about the train? It goes from Waterloo and takes just over 1 1/2 hrs. Also less frequently from Victoria, taking 2 hours.
It's the Guinness ride the night before so I'm not super keen on a mega early start but happy to go with a majority decision...I'd ideally get the train after/around lunch, allowing us to get to the campsite late afternoon and get set up (unroll sleeping bag).
We also still have 2 spots to fill in tipi 2 - more sausages required!
