  • dunno what you folks that rode thought of the cat n fiddle today, I found it tough going in the wind, which was in my face all the way to derby. can't do the deer beer ride tomorrow as leading a tri club session, sounds fun though - enjoy!

  • I'm going to try and make it to beer and deer, unless the clock change screws me over...

  • Cat and fiddle ride was one of those rides I'd probably not have enjoyed by myself, with a killer headwind all the way up and down the hills and a cold grey sky. But with everybody else, it was great! I'll get out for more group rides now.

  • Yep, it was a killer. I had to pedal on the descents too. I would have definetly gave up up if I was on my own so the power of the group ride prevailed!

See you all next month - you too Morgan. No sleep is no excuse.... I wanna see your latest ride.

  • hey guys, tried and failed to make it down to unicorn on sat for my first spin with the dropouts. Had a series of mechanicals and was 20mins late. boooooooooo :(

ended up doing 50miles on my todd which was lovely especially with those lovely spring winds
    mmmmmmmmmmm

anyway im gonna be going out every saturday to do a similar distance in the peaks setting off from south manchester at a reasonable time 10.30 - 12 noon if anyone wants to keep on it between the monthly rides. Would really appreciate the company/slipstream ;)

not expecting a massive response as im pretty much unknown on here, but as they say
    "shy bairns get nowt"

  • Was good to meet new faces on the dropouts ride. As said previously, the wind was nails!

If not before, I'll see you guys on the next one.

  • None if you know me but I'm in whalley range and have been meaning to go out with a club for ages but can't face 8am chorlton velo times.. Would love to come for a nice ride

  • Anyone doing this, this year?

    http://www.pendlewitchesvintagevelo.co.uk/

Gonna ride up and then blag a lift back after, or other way round.

Also, heard rumour of a ride to the Heptonstall Pace Egg on 22nd - anyone doing that and got more details? Is it a more leisurely thing? gf and I looking at options for getting over there.

  • Pace egg ride setting off at 9.30am from All Saints Park, Oxford Road on Good Friday. Riding roads to Castleton then maybe along canal (hard wide towpath) to littelborough then prob over blackstone edge for fun or along flatter but busier road or carry on along canal depending on weather/people's bikes/etc.

  • Pete wants to do a ride on sunday. maybe to meet us in mankinholes + ride over the Oxenhope climb then a circle back to mcr via mankinholes. not sure. will check with him details and post. not sure what route he wants to take but could look something like this

Oh, on that note The Poly Run is the last Friday in September. Some of us basically thought tweed was more a southern thing and so we'll be having a trackies and shell suits critical mass in september
