mdcc has it perfectly covered but read this http://davesbikeblog.blogspot.com/2007/05/trail-fork-rake-and-little-bit-of.html
Of course it still entirley depends what you want from the bike and your sizing
I wouldnt suggest the geometry you have posted for any kind of street or road ridingThank you. Interesting guy this Dave Moulton. The history bits of his articles are very interesting. I'll definitely read more from him.
To make the HT slacker I have to lower the BB. As far as I know the upper limit for bb height (drop) is around 290mm (44mm). But how low would you recon I could go and still avoid pedalstrikes on the street?
Depends on crankarm lenght of course. Being a longlegged guy I should obt for very long arms but I dont want to spin out. Im thinking 170mm as a good compromise? -

As far as I know the upper limit for bb height (drop) is around 290mm (44mm)no you dont you just alter the head tube and downtube lengths to suit ,you dont need a 44mm drop on a street bike anyhow.People ride 172.5 cranks in crits with a normal bb drop and dont have any problems with pedals hitting the tarmac.Unless its for a steep banked track I cant see why you need anything than a normal bb drop

Head tube and downtube are fixed because he's butchering an existing road frame.
With 170mm cranks and 60mm BB drop, you need to be going some to get pedal strike, unless you're also rocking huge flat pedals on wide-Q MTB cranks.

Thank you.
I did like the old wheelset but they really suit the frame, only thing I would say now is some aero levers rather than the dirty harrys, and maybe some clips/straps?

I think I saw this locked up on Kingsway the other day. Looked tasty.

I also prefer the new Ellipse graphics, and for modern track wheels on a steel road conversion they work remarkably well. Just about getting away with the colour co-ordination there.

• #40911
the old style graphics would also fit in

trike has sort of been assembled. The raw steel has been painted - hammerite, classy.
Everything can now be attached to the frame except for two bolts, the holes for which are slightly off line and need a little reaming.
here's some bad pictures
you can see the frame a little better in this one, if you ignore the mess and the washing. This was done in our one bed flat so I couldn't quite get it all in shot.
and the brake mounts for the front wheels
I just need a little spare time to install a ground anchor out front and I'll be able to add the box.

Just picked up a 50cm Sirius frame for the missus in Reynolds 653. Still trying to research as to whether it is any good or not but for £20 notes I reckon it'll do.
Also just got my new commuting bike. Wanted to get something half decent on the ride to work scheme, with some gears n that but once I'd read all the terms and conditions, it looked a well iffy. Short on cash and needing something that can get filthy without me getting upset about it, I've ended up with a 2010 Langster. Does this make me a bad person?

I am seriously confused why people haven't figured out that this bike is totally photoshopped yet. I mean, do you think the tyres just disappear into the seat-tube?
Lovely! What tyres are those?
