Does anyone have a Rolleiflex they would like to sell me?

Wicksie: Just been reccomended http://www.playfordrepairs.com/ by Aperature. Haven't checked him out yet but about to (the focusing has gone on my 20-35), was told he's very reasonable, good unless it's something super advanced. So perfect for a memory card release replacement.

I use a Lumix LX3, love it.
Mrs C is about to get a GF1 but can't find a good deal on the 20mm lens, think she's just going to bite the bullet and pay full RRP.

Going the Ebay way to get GF1 with 20mm,
I think you still can get price there. -

Random question from a non-photographer
My parents are off on a long holiday and they want to be able to backup their digital photos while they are on the road. They do not want to carry a laptop and will have little to no internet connectivity anyway so any cloud base backup services are pointless.
What would be ideal is an external hard drive that plugs into their camera (Canon D5) and will copy the pictures from the CF card directly. I've been doing some poking around but haven't seen anything.
Wiganwill was kind enough to point me in the direction of the Freecom tough drive but I'm not sure if you can plug that directly into the camera and have that backup. I also found [ame="http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B001P3NUNA/ref=dp_db_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1"]the Clickfree USB dongle[/ame] on Amazon and I'm not sure if you could daisy chain things together and bodge it.
Anyone have any recommendations for photo backup for the traveller without a laptop?

D90 or D7000?
For video, personally I would go for the D7000 just because of the framerate options for video, but then but then you do only get 720/25p so it isn't quite full broadcast HD but the footage does look really good when you get it out to tape

Thanks, should have mentioned that I am not bothered about shooting video. Main concerns are ease of use - focus point adjustments, exposure compensation - and image quality overall - allowing for other variables like lens quality. And durability too. I have a D80 which is pretty easy to use.

How come the non-digital thread is full of images and the non-film thread is full of geeky tech talk?
Here's some street photography I did recently.
Lumix digital compact, nothing fancy. All shot in monochrome mode and just a bit of contrast pumped in in LR.because most people who use digital are just getting on making images for either work or pleasure instead of getting wrapped up in some romantic archaic process and fetishising over the equipment to the extent that the means of production is more important than the message.
the resultant artwork is viewed at 72dpi on a 6bit laptop screen.just sayin like.

Because the guys on the film thread take good pictures instead of worring about white balance and shit.
Insert winky.
Just bought a Lumix GF1 an 20mm f1.7 so we'll see what this digtal trickery is all about. Thanks for the advice u guyz.

Anyone know a cheap way of mounting some 6x4 or 5x7 prints? I was hoping you could get some sort of white border ready attached to some backing that the print could justslide into...

I've got a canon 35mm f2 lens and I've started having problems with the AF. When focussing down to short distances the focus jams and I have to switch to MF and really squeeze the focussing ring to get it to unstick. This happens for distances below 0.3m so it's nothing that I usually use (the lens is for mainly portrait stuff) but it is very annoying when the the lens doesn't focus and goes on a hunt only to get jammed (quite common in low light).
does it sound like it's a bit dirty (how would I clean it?) in there or is it fucked?

Probably needs a service, but I'm not sure I'd think about doing that myself.
So the Fuji Finepix X100 is available to pre-order at Jacobs - a snip at £999.99...

Mrs Glover just got one with the 20mm lens... I've only have a brief play but IMO it takes a stunningly good photo just set to auto, and the design and build quality is great. Much better than my LX3 (but not quite as pretty, natch).

D7000 is 1080/24 as far as I'm aware...

To any 550d owners, what memory cards are you using? i just brought a scan disk class 6 16gb card that doesn't work too well when recording film (i.e about 5 secs before it gets overloaded) apparently certain models work better than others.
There's Canera Clinic on Great Portland street, but I have heard some mixed things about them. I think there's no harm in taking it into Sendean and getting a quote, I know for a fact those guys are as professional as hell.
