To any 550d owners, what memory cards are you using? i just brought a scan disk class 6 16gb card that doesn't work too well when recording film (i.e about 5 secs before it gets overloaded) apparently certain models work better than others.
Fujifilm 16gb SD/HC 6
Looks like the image below, but with a '6' in the circle and not a '4' as in the image.
Works fine with the 550D in video mode, no problems at all.

Thanks, should have mentioned that I am not bothered about shooting video. Main concerns are ease of use - focus point adjustments, exposure compensation - and image quality overall - allowing for other variables like lens quality. And durability too. I have a D80 which is pretty easy to use.
Are you going to sell the D80 when you get your new camera?

Ha! For what, £5? A broken D80 with no lens. I was thinking of keeping it as B&W only back up body.

First few shots out of the GF1, took it with me for a stroll round town on Sat. Default settings, JPEGs @ ISO 200 (haven't figured out all this RAW business yet), shooting in aperture priority mode (very easy and intuitive). No post processing at all, sorry its a steep learning curve for me.
First impressions of the camera - compact, lovely build and handles really nicely. lens is sharp, fast and my kinda focal length (40mm equiv). I like it :)

I thought about a GF but got myself a Sony Nex3 instead.
Play were doing the kit with the 16mm for £269 so I couldn't resist.
Hoping I can get the hang of it before I goto Estonia next month. -

^ Just me who read that at "I thought about a girlfriend, but got myself a Sony Nex3 instead"?

My girlfriend or my cameras, there's a choice I hope I never have to make!
There's only one of here but about 25 of them, that might be the deciding factor! -

Twas a tossup between those for me too. Plumped for the GF1 in the end because of faster lens and it appears geared a bit more towards twiddlers than point-and-shooters.
Having said that, I didn't know you could get the Nex/16mm for that sort of money... nice one!

You can't anymore! Yesterday morning the price went up to £450!
I don't really mind it being a point-n-shooters camera, that's what I'll be using it for really.
I have 2 very nice DSLRs when I want more control but the Nex will mainly be used for candid street photography, where the half decent iso performance, wide angle lens and ability to manually (de)focus were my main concerns.
I want to play about with the video a bit too but I reckoned that - especially given the price - 720p would be high enough def for me. -
