  • That ^^ looks pretty damn sexy. Commuting or weekend rider?

  • Ah cheers @Murtles, that seatpost is the one, shame about the condition, but could re-apply Syncros logo.

I'm not a fan of those stems, they seem a little agricultural, but could look could teamed with the seatpost...

  • Looking good Toby, where you living these days?

  • OK.brb...

How do you rate the SL track 2000 chainset?

Ordered one from Planet x like a month ago and it never came.

  • Ordered mine on sunday night, was with me Monday afternoon. So far it's really nice, easy install, I like the look of them and for the current price you cant ask for much more. I always find PX really helpful, you got in contact with them?

Yeah, i have always got my orders next day too, usually are great to me.
I phoned them after 5 days, as its always been without fail next day service, was told to wait.

Ordered the cranks on the 14th of january, was told to wait 20 working days untill the 4th of february , i ordered another big order from them and that came the next day as usual.

Emailed them the night of the 3rd of Feb, and they replied with a link to the PX site, saying they are in the process of moving, and there will be no customer service for a while. Nothing else written, just the link.

Not a lot i can do, brilliant company usually, and im sure its as annoying for them as it is for me, but they are being pretty shit about it thus far.

  • I've posted this bike before but have just changed a couple of things... Biggest of which was the saddle which is now a chopped and tied Brooks B17. I read a fair bit about chopping them on here and other sites and was going to take it to Skully but after a couple of tinnies I was pretty sure I'd manage it...
Pretty much the most cow boy job ever, had it resting on my leg while slicing it and didnt even template it up, used a chain too to punch holes and an old shoe lace to tie, despite all those factors I think it came out pretty well...

  • Project Track 2011 begins!

    :-)

Thanks. Still in Barnes man, working in Richmond. Your back in the area right? Where abouts?

  • Heres my newly polished campy strada crank arm. I was a bit nervous starting out on this, going at a crank with emery paper is scary! I'm really happy with how its come out though, so shiny!!
I thoroughly recommend anyone that has the patience to sit down for a couple of hours and sand away to do this, really comes up nice!

  • Lovely Feather frame!

Nice! I heard you moved to another country or some shit.
I'm in Twickenham. We're due a huge catch up man.

  • Haha, oh yeah I did move to Vietnam for about 4 days! It's a long story. We should definitely catch up, I will PM you or do a Facebook.

They look good! Wouldnt caustic soda of been an easier option?

  • or just metal polisher

  • I"m assuming he used that but the emery paper first to take off the anodising?

  • They aren't anodised.

  • anodising happens over time...

its too get out marks that are too deep for metal polish to get rid of

  • I think they are anodised...
I assumed he used the emery paper to remove it instead of caustic soda, wasn't very clear there, obviously it removes deeper marks, and sorry Malaysian, I'm pretty sure anodising doesn't happen over time and does indeed require electricity.
Saturday night, correcting people on the internet, when I'm not 100% sure anyway, dream big.
