gatorskin hardshells are the best tyres I've found for skidding.

why wouldnt i use njs parts on an njs frame?
and the gear ratio works well with size of the chain ring,
the Gold Medal Pro track cog, is sworn by many professional riders,
the fact that the rims are clinchers means nothing, accept for being able to have the same quality as something like zipp but being able to build it up with preferred hubs,
whats up?are you riding it on the streets or at a velodrome?

• #39804
gatorskins are pretty awesome tryes, they've performed amazingly well for me.
they are pretty grippy but i can also bust a more-showy skid if need be. (the need to be rad) -

Streets, and recently indoor drag, i took the bike to the track on Sunday, and even tho its not ideal, it seems to work surprisingly well and didn't feel any loss of power

Absolutely, Scoble and I were just having a bit of fun guessing. Like most builds on here, I'm sure you could work out the exact cost if you did a bit of research, but it doesn't really matter. What matters is that it turned out the way you wanted it, which it did. Good work.

My gatorskins are piss easy to get on/off. Will all different rims I've tried. Openpro, CXP33, Halo,Rigida... They do seems to have batches which arent up to the usual standard. Their tubs were incredibly tight a couple of years ago. Seems to have been fixed now though.
The worst tyre I've had for grip have been those Most (Moist?) tyre. Never been so scared to ride around corners before riding on that tyre. They also happen to be made by Conti.

if you look at previous posts youll be able to work it out, the frame was bought from Gabe at NJS Export and the archive of sold frames shows the price there,
no MP just dont like talking moneyWell done Olly! The Kalavinka looks spot on. I dont know what it is, about people moaning about people spending a lot on their bikes! I got the same when i first posted my Nagasawa!
Just personal choice at the end of the day! -

Just personal choice at the end of the day!haha thanks Matp glad to hear you like it, i know what you mean, it may be stupid to spend alot but i want to do a frame justice and for it to feel like it looks, and i wouldnt want the deep section wheel by wasting my money on somthing like H&Son which would be useless for the track, many people will chose to do this but and the end of the day it shows, ill put up better pictures to show the slight reverse sloped top tube which makes the geometry very aggressive especially with these bars, another custom feature for the rider of the frame, loving the Naggy!

I think it looks like a supreme amount of fun, carbon clinchers and all.
(bugs me that both tyres are on backwards though, even though tread direction doesn't really matter) -

for me the set-up is neither one thing nor another.
the carbon clinchers and track stem/dropbar aren't comfortable for the streets or let's say exorbitant, for the velodrome the gear ratio is wrong.that's the reason why i asked you what you are doing with this set-up.
i would change the gear ratio and ride it on a velodrome. it's a kalavinka keirin bike.
-
• #39814
even my road bike, has a sloping stem and drops, are you more into risers? personal preference, and the gear ratio isn't right for the velodrome but it isn't wrong,
what are you sitting on? -
• #39815
i know that it's a personal preference. i ride 49/15 on the velodrome with road drops and risers for city rides, much more comfortable (for me).
but still a great bike!

mallard 6 speeds would be a good choice, especially paired with a maillard freewheel and simplex super LJ derailleur.
while internal hubs are great, the reliablity of the simplex and maillard is pretty good with smooth shifting (yes, simplex, but with the LJ).
Do you happen to know who might possess such a derailleur and want rid? Thanks for the advice.
Fly- it's looking better. Get some nice silver mudguards on it to fill the clearances.
Yeah i know... I'd Like to get 27s but you know... can't find anything decent or light enough etc...

Sadly no, and they do fetch a bit on ebay (I saw a set with derailleur, shifter, cable the lots went for £100), but the LJ is the best of the brunch.
right now I've a 3 speed derailleur set-up that I might sell in the near future due to funding the cycle tour of South America, if you're interested, I can make a deal with you.

You can see the derailleur here with the 3 speed freewheel (set-up for 1/8 chain only);

projects here- finish singular.
Ride TT bike.projects at parents:
Swap parts from Focus onto Geekhouse, build new rear wheel with disc rear hub, put on one midges back on.
Swap parts from Cannondale onto Corvino (not pictured).
And as above.
Will be selling the internal hub from the Geek, maybe the front wheel, probably the LeVeL rear also... probably in 2 weekends time, as right now I'm in Nottingham....This weekend I'm going for a fucking mud fest (if the parts get here on time....)
-
• #39823
Holy shit, so you did went and get that Singular!
Have you sold the Geekhouse yet?
-
• #39824
shit I almost forget, any chance you can sell me that butterfly bar? I'm about to get a Thorn Sherpa and may need those.
-
• #39825
yeah, when I'm back in londontown.
£10?geekhouse is staying, just changing massively.
Singular- bought last year, november with payout from old landlord (cunt), and picked up Friday from Sam.
Sam has really nice coffee.
he's also a stellar guy.
I didn't think Gatorskins were suitable for skidding, sure for the occasional skip skid to slow down rather than a big showbizzy floor 5 obese skid.
They're pretty grippy, and the GP 4 season tyres is even better in the wet, a tyres I rated highly.
