SF you got that frameset for 600EU! That's amazing. I thought I did well with my Ultegra SL build for £1600 but hey... think you might beat that one.
PS Record 11s all the way, f*ck chorus.

You've gone too far with the yellow. Should have stopped at pedals and pads.
Saddles + bartape is best in black.

shouldn't have the same colour hoods as bartape.

I think those rules have sold out.
An earlier and better version can be found here: http://vanderkittenliz.blogspot.com/2008/03/current-obsessions-2-official-rules-of.html

I dont think the pedals (heavily reduced contrador specials) and pads will be that noticable (want yellow swiss stops anyway, as have carbon braking surface).
The tape and hoods are going to need replacing at some point anyway (hoods are soft touch, so wear down). So might as well live a little (I've never owned black bar-tape, its dull)
The saddle is a bit silly, as even on close-out, saddles cost real money. If I dont get on with the SLR, I will replace with a black Flite/Zoncolan.
I reckon it'll look cool, but then I think splash bar tape is cool, so am probably a poor judge of cool TBH. At least it follows the rules (breathes sigh of relief)
Like this but with yellow not white bartape.

How much does that frame/fork weigh?
With all the hanger, bolts etc...

Havent weighed it.
Its the smallest they do, and I only have around 180mm of steerer, so should be less than this:
The weights actually measured by Ride magazine when they dissassembled the Racemaster were:
Frame (bare) 1,384g
Seatpost 231g
Fork 521gTotal = 2,140g
If its 2Kg, then the bike'll weigh about 6.9Kg. Which is a nice weight for a bike built primarily for stiffness IMHO.

I'd want to ride them. Read some un-fantastic reviews of the impec. Sounds like I'd prefer the Racemachine.
The IMPEC is serious eyecandy though.
Are those RM forks availible separatly?

Thankfully I ordered plain black tyres ;)
You have no idea how glad I am to read this particular sentence.

Would you not refer it if he put moustache bars and a sprung saddle on it Ed?

I doubt it. I'm sure the Swiss would replace a damaged pair though, maybe talk to someone in Evans who could enquire for you.

Basically I can drop 200g, by upgrading the fork. But I'm a bit of a bike ponce, and would like something that matched.
I've seen the 2009 forks on sale separatly at GloryCycles. But not the full carbon 2010 forks.
I'll probably grab something (EC90 SL) off t'bay, as I dont need much steerer to be left.

^ this BUT i prefer the 09/10 models, the alu carbon composite won bloody awards for its ingenuity ffs.

Nope BMC started making them as opposed to letting EAston do it. Like they had on the top machine last year.

Wheels? Grab an old pair of EC70s, they dont make em anymore but they're mean and cheap!
Note: I'll be doing this in the summer.
As well as the saddle (which is a little too orange) I also have the following yellow bits for the Racemaster.
