  • nah, Peggy hasnt had a gwime night since before the pub burnt down...

    @Mike c LMAO

  • Lucifer: I bet you like The Archers though, don't you?

  • I recently registered for eHarmony.

    Got to some profile questions:

"what was the last book you read"

"One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish."

Then some bloody other question comes up.

"what did you like about this book?"

"I liked the bit about the fishies"

    Zero matches.

How the hell is this going to keep you from being forever alone?

  • Lucifer: I bet you like The Archers though, don't you?

I asked someone who listened to the Archers why all the actors delivered their lines like they were having a particularly difficult shit. Apparently it's to give the impression they are talking whilst undertaking some kind of farm labouring duty, but I swear there's several characters who do this constantly.

  • Maybe they're on widdleplop farm.

  • the final nail on the fixie trend coffin will be when some fluro eyesore locks one up outside the Vic and asks for a G&T

  • The final nail?

  • or barspin - you choose?

After that they'll be deeply unfashionable and we can all go back to riding our bikes

  • is it still raining? i can't tell.

  • Have there been any fixie gangs doing sick tricks in the square?

  • Lucifer: I bet you like The Archers though, don't you?

Very sad when Nigel fell off the roof the other night.

  • is it still raining? i can't tell.

    ?!

    This and the

"did VAT go up - I don't watch tv, listen to the radio or read the paper"
    response from yesterday are gold

  • Very sad when Nigel fell off the roof the other night.

If a fictional radio-soap character falls off the roof and you can't see it - does it really happen? Is it real?

  • I was gutted that was the "cliffhanger". I was hoping for them to discover the Archer's family line wasn't completely ture.

  • If a fictional radio-soap character falls off the roof and you can't see it - does it really happen? Is it real?

Yes. There is much work in literary circles that these characters are real, as their world develops in response to and references the real world.

  • Ah, is that what the problem is? A lack of the use of facts?

So nobody is objecting to the storyline? Or the fact that Sam Janus' mum (in the show) is shagging everything? I mean, I could believe she might shag Mitchell (supposedly an alpha male) but BEALE?
    Fuck me.

Don't knock Beale, the man runs a mean fish and chip shop.. that goes a long way with the ladies.

  • Yes. There is much work in literary circles that these characters are real, as their world develops in response to and references the real world.

what I'm saying is... Pictures or it didn't happen.

  • I can tell which of you lot don't have kids.

Or to rephrase, I can tell which of you lot haven't had kids that have sadly passed away.

  • The big whooHaa was the mothers of Cot Death babies being portrayed as crazed baby snatchers.
Puts an elephant in the room when a young mothers are there with friends who have lost babies. just praying on the venerability of new mums and grief of parents who have lost babies.

mountain molehill really. big problem is the typical audience for Eastenders are the red top reading halfwits, living life by proxy. sad part is these are the majority in the UK

    Free Arthur Fowler!

  • ^^ that's what I meant to say, but am shit with words.

  • I think the point MG was making, was not about Eastenders and where the plots come from. I think his point was, why do people complain about this shit and not the real shit that matters?

    But I could be wrong.

    Bang!

there are so many bigger issues. lets get on the bankers bonuses, rise in parking fines, VAT, abolishing of Child benefits.. maybe eastenders writers should grow some stones and put them into the plot line instead of grim weaknesses and tragedy. fucking doom merchants!

    yesyesyesyes

  • Having a wife who insists on watching this shite.

I have unfortunately had to experience the terrible plots, acting and dialogue.

However, it does say at the end of the show sometimes...

'If you have been affected by any of the issues on tonight's episode please call this number'

Which makes me think the content it is some sort of Government initiative?

  • If it's not on Eastenders, it didn't happen.

  • Enders makes 'er indoors sob right now.
