But the Desire Z is a BIG step up performance-wise from the regular Desire (which I own) ....and you really want someone to swap their new phone, for an older, much less powerful phone? Even though the CPU is rated at a mere 800Mhz, it is the later and further developed model, with the 205 GPU, and not the old 200 GPU.

What's the deal with the random Israel remark? I don't get it?

Weird, isn't it?

Nothing more than not wanting to piss off the Jewish market, which is huge?
-
• #3907
Don't fuck with the Jews! They run shit, innit.
Seriously? So is the Chinese market. And the European market. And the American market.

The coming CES techie conference is soon upon us. Loads to be learned then, from Blackberry, LG, and others.
It should be rather Android heavy. -

IGlove Touchscreen Gloves for use with ALL Touch screen: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics
Bought the black gloves. They are both like the grey, not fleecy. Been wearing these all day. Very warm for wool gloves and work well with touch screen.

So I thought I'd check to see if any updates are due for my HTC Wildfire, and what do you know? Froyo 2.2.
Using my phone as a Wifi Hotspot. Internet on the go! ♥ my HTC.
Merry Fucking Christmas.

Wow,
what a way to be a dick about it...

NurseHolliday, you see, I had no way of knowing if you actually knew the difference or not. It could have been innocent, or it could have been an attempt at a sly con. My pointing that out doesn't make me a dick my dear fellow.
I could have just screamed "Con Artist", but that would have been completely wrong; so I pointed out the discrepancy in jocular fashion.

Wow,
what a way to be a dick about it...Stating facts is not being a dick. Having a sook about someone showing you information that might prevent you making a questionable choice is being a dick. You're a dick. I'm a dick. We're all dicks. Glad we got that sorted.
DHD OTA update 1.72.405.3_R2 is available. ~40MB
I was half-way through rooting process for mine but I think I'll keep it stock for a bit longer if they're still doing OTA updates pretty regularly. -

I'm only reading the android and coffee threads. The rest can fuck off. I might merge some shit to keep me amused during slow times at work, we'll see.

Seeing as I'm laid up with manflu I may root my T-Mobile Hero tomorrow... Any dos and don'ts from fellow T-Mob Hero users? Best ROM? Main reason for doing it is to overclock the processor, I've become addicted to Angry Birds and I'm a bit fed up of playing in slo-mo... TIA... J x

No idea about how to root it as I've not had stock in a year, but I can heartily recommend
http://www.villainrom.co.uk/forum/forumdisplay.php?192-FroydVillain-1.7.0
Which I have been running since Froyo came out.The Villainrom devs seem to be pretty super, so I would think the other ones would be good if you didn't want pure vanilla-y goodness!

Anyone here got the Nexus S? What's the general consensus? We like?
-
• #3924
Zed from what I see so far, Google aren't actually making an Ultimate phone when they release each new Nexus. Rather it appears to be a vehicle for showcasing what is possible, with the latest new Android flavour. And since that is the case, the phones would be reliable, and cutting edge up to a point. Phones released later from other manufacturers, normally will be of higher spec and performance.
Sony Ericsson, Motorola and LG, all have phones that will soon be announced, that will make the Nexus 2 look distinctly jaded. If not nearly obselete.

Interested to see the LG Star....
