  • Bici Crono has them.

  • if it has this hub and balsa wood in the middle it is defo an Ambrosio Disc

  • ^^looks like door knobs

  • First door knob
    Second door knob

    Bici Crono has them.

Those hubs look really neat, but nothing like on mine. The hub's flange is flat (it says GIPIEMME on this flat flange), not conical and ball bearing's cover is a separate piece. Also, three bolts instead of 6. I'll take some more detailed pics when my gf borrows me the camera again.

  • £10/15.

  • £10/15.

    Thanks.

  • Hi people, spokes with an "R" stamped on the head. butted down the end of the nipple. and looks drawn so not shiny through the middle.

Thinking the wheels are from the 80's...

  • Fuji tracks use spokes stamped with R. Not butted though. Pic of used font?

  • nervex: No idea what it is, but that is one damn nice field find!

  • thanks rbhorizon: get back to you about the font in the new year, not track wheelset, old araya's on suzue hubs, the araya's are exact same profile as the araya golds.... frame vinateg is a mystery as well, but will nail it down a little more before posting for final opinions/info....

  • I had a Dawes like that.

I think it is a dawes, with an oval head badge thats been rattle canned over.

  • As we are on the nervex lugs, heres another one...
im a messenger from germany and recently got this trackframe, paint looks rattlecanned
nervex pro lugs, campy dropouts front/rear, bsa bb threading, campy headset, doublecrown fork, unique rear bridge, tiiiight clearances...

any info about the brand? might be a british one from the late 60's?
    Sorry but pics are massive:

  • Can anybody tell me which frame/who made this bike?? I presume were made in Germany/Austria in the 70's since still has "SACHS" gears and not "Sachs-Heuret" as they were branded post 80's.

    Many Thanks.

  • thats just a cheap mass produced toruing-bycicle, weinmann equipped,
nothing special to get information about. obviosly produced in lindau, a town in south germany (bavaria) on the border to austria.
could be that hercules produced them and just labeled them different, because hercules did bikes with the same specs...

  • Fuji tracks use spokes stamped with R. Not butted though. Pic of used font?

Interesting, id like to see a picture of the head when you can mate.

  • No idea, but maybe the logo on the fork crown gives an indication. Better pics of that?
Must be a good bike brand, because not many BB set suppliers offer customized BB cup colours.

thats a picture of the forks, they have campag dropouts aswell. im not sure the forks are original however.

  • Hi,

Since a year I'm riding fixed on a race frame, now I want to change that for a track frame.
I can buy this one but I want to know if this is a bit of quality.

And does anyone have a price indication for this?

    Thanks,
    Cis

  • looks pretty good.
    Slack chain though.

  • That was for storage

  • Hard to tell, the picture is not that clear.
BALK is a bike shop in Nieuw Vennep, The Netherlands.
Owner is Klaas Balk, former track ace and Dutch national champion.

So, bikes with BALK labels could be anything.
AT the Amsterdam Velodrome, there are BALK rental bikes. Don't know if these are all from the same manufacturer. Perhaps old frames have been resprayed. Very common.
But, it seems that some BALK track frames have been made at the Eddy Merckx factory. Needs more examination though.
Maybe a detailed picture of the fork crown, incl. front wheel ?
    Marks underneath BB shell ?

  • I'll ask for that
