that's pretty much it. make a good chilli w beans and mex spices etc, make a cheese/bechamel sauce but use 3/4 chicken stock and 1/4 milk instead of all milk, and layer up in baking dish w tortillas instead of pasta, and heaps of cheese and jalapenos.

  • How tricky are they to eat?

Oh, reasonably. There will be mess. But if you are the type of person who says things like "you call that finished?" before swiping the remains of a lamb chop off your girlfriend's plate, then humming happily to yourself while you gnaw all the burnt/stringy/fatty/best bits off - you'll love 'em.

    That same one.

  • I'm doing a Cuttle fish and king prawn soup, very aromatic, very fishy... delish.

  • traditionally you were never supposed to buy fish on a Sunday, as it wasn't fresh. I'm not sure thats too much of an issue these days though.
I've just bought a fucking massive bit of monkfish from Waitrose and will be roasting it wrapped in parma ham and serving it with minted mushy peas and carrots. YUM.

Oh on another note - we went to the Tast of Christmas festival yesterday at ExCel - really good. Much bigger than the Summer one, so many nice free things to eat. We bought our Xmas cheese, some chocolate wine, some good sausages, slightly expensive but amazing balsamic vinegar some sloe gin, and ate lots of nice things. Will defo go next year.

  • Mmmmm..... tempted to swap a bowl for a Chelsea Bun?

Totally, cash on collection please. :D

Oh, and it's about to be served.

  • Zing.

  • Zing.

    Yum Yum.

** Doffs hat and bows in deep and total respect **

Chelsea Buns not a total success tbh, last of my old yeast packets and not quite fluffy enough for my liking. Work in progress. I will not be beaten.

  • Went to Franco Manca in Brixton yesterday.. very tasty pizza!

  • looks tasty. still yet to get there - that place is open less often than anne widdecombes legs.

  • Haha true, I used to live in Brixton and never managed to get there, it lived up to expectations so I'm happy.
