Little owlet in the glen
I'm ashamed of you;
You are ungrammatical
In speaking as you do.
You should say, "To whom! To whom!"
Not, "To who! To who!"Your small friend, Miss Katy-did,
May be green, 't is true,
But you never hear her say
"Katy do! She do!" -

Is there a general 'Birds' thread? If there was, I would say 'Feed the birds in this inclement weather - nuts, fat balls etc.'
They need our helps, especially if we wish to have an insect free Summer

Important message for all who attempt to feed garden birds but are thwarted by squirrel raiders... alaway hang youtr feeders away from any climabable objects nearby (that they may jump from), and SUSPEND THE FEEDER USING A DISCARDED BRAKE CABLE. You know, the really long bit that's always left over when you trim a front brake cable. THEY CAN'T CLIMB DOWN BRAIDED WIRE! Srsly. I was so excited when I devised this solution.
Also a single wire like fuse-wire would do.

OK, it's not an owl, but can anyone help identify this bird?
A mate's writing an essay on the picture, and has decided it'd be a good idea to know what it is before he starts....

If you doubt RPM (dangerous) try using ispot, pretty good website.

Could be a Kestrel. Same species anyway.

I know it's at an angle RPM, but the tail is still far too stocky for a peregrine I reckon. Also, their wings are much longer and more elegant. I think you're on the right course with a falcon though:
Kestrel? Merlin?
Thread merge ;-)
