  • Does anyone know the fork length for either of these? The guy designing my road frame needs to know so he can finish up the drawings...

Anything else similar I should be looking at as options? Steel road frame, non-integrated 1 1/8 headset.

  • If you eat in at a kebab house sort of place, and they give you attentive table service. Are you supposed to tip?

(a place that sells mainly kebabs/burgers/fries etc)

I was always under the impression that your weren't, just like you dodnt tip at a chip shop. But I was with group of people who thought I was a right scrooge for not tipping. And when I got 50p out they thought I was equally bad. My food only cost £3.50

It's not a chippy if you get waited on; I'd have just rounded it up to a fiver.

  • 50p is more than reasonable on a £3.50 meal.

  • Your not supposed to tip all the time anyway. If the people serving went above and beyond then they deserve a tip.

Isn't some kind of wax meant to be quite good at cleaning leather?

Reckon you need something to draw the oil/wax/residue out rather than apply more.
A warm iron over a few sheets of kitchen roll on affected area or something like that?

Grannys soap flakes. one small pinch in 100 ml of water. spray on then wipe. Get a leather conditioner for after the cleaning process.

    Definitely, usually 12-15% isn't it?
I work in a bar where we do table service for lunch, I'd say about half of the customers leave any kind of tip.. I'm so used to non-tippers that I don't really hold it against them anymore. Unless it's a table of 20 sitting as far away as possible being highly demanding etc.

  • We just don’t have the tipping culture over here. I’ve never tipped for a cheap bite to eat – maybe £20 and above, then I would. Lots of places add on a ‘discretionary’ cover charge, which you can have removed, which covers tips.

Plus, not all tips end up in the hands of the staff anyway, if at all – it’ll go towards overheads like laundry. Some places may give a certain percentage to the staff. Very rare that all tips are equally divided between the people who should benefit from them.

  • Anything under £20 is a cheap bite to eat? Well, la-di-da.

  • No man, that's not how I intended to appear at all. £5 and below is cheap. I'm as skint as everybody else.

  • £5 is cheap? Well, la-di-da

  • Look, I've got a table booked for one at The Ritz for lunch, I really have no more time for this...

  • £5 is cheap? Well, la-di-da

    haha

  • Here's a tip for those of you at work; never do a Google Image search for 'tramps eating' if SafeSearch is off.
I am off for a little lie down now, I feel all giddy.

  • Excel question:
HOW, do I get text from one cell on one sheet to show in another cell on another sheet, easy with numbers but no luck with words, trying all sorts none of it is working.

ie. if I type "january" into a cell on sheet 2, I want the word "january" to appear in another cell on sheet 1

    Anyone, Bueller?

  • This seems so obvious i'm worried there must be something else wrong, but anyway:

If cell A1 on sheet 2 has anything entered into it, putting the formula =SHEET2!A1 anywhere else in the workbook will make whatever it was appear there too.

  • What is the best P2P blocklist to use?

I use Transmission on my Mac. I've just set it up to use Bluetack and update weekly.

Is this as good as anything else?

I want to get Transmission to auto update weekly so somewhere with a .gz file available on a http address is preferred as I'd rather not mess around with text files every week.

When you've got them clean, invest in some [ame=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antimacassar]antimacassar[/ame]s
