Getting desperate! - booked the coach, meeting a few mates out there but no tickets for the Kuipke - HELP!!

Hi TrakarT,
Me and a few mates are going and although we have tickets this year we were missing the friday last year. When we turned up, they said they release some on the day (i think 12pm) from the ticket booth at the track - which meant we got in on the Friday. It is a bit of a risk but you might be able to get some from there....

Haven't been to Berlin for a few years, but when I did it worked out cheaper* than going to Gent, , took less time** and I got to see two sessions, was always surprised that apparently no-one from the UK went.
*Easyjet flight cheaper than Eurostar to Brussels / Gent. Business hotels cheap at weekends.
** 1.5 hr flight compared to hours on the train or in car.I was able to get a flight that left UK late afternoon (5ish)arriving Berlin in time for Saturday evening session, then watch all Sunday session before catching evening flight back to UK.

But Easyjet is horrible and I don't want to give that dick head my money

Eurostar to Brussels is only two hours and drops you conveniently for a train to Ghent. It also goes from St Pancras rather than Luton or some other godforsaken suburban hole. Deals at weekends can bring the cost right down and include some hotel inclusive packages. It is also unlikely to be cancelled at the last minute leaving you stranded and you don't have to sit in another passenger's puke. Half an hour check in and no queues. All in all, worth the extra few quid.

Berlin is better, they have a sprint competition, which usually includes the top sprinters and the world champion, they have motor-pacing with big white BMWs, food is ten times better, trade stands are better, atmosphere is better and the venue doesn't smell like drains.....see you next year?
-
• #296
plus the environmental issues around short haul flights...
-
• #297
Winston, that wasn't the drains, just Povey ;o)
-
• #298
I've been to the Ghent, Stuttgart and Zurich 6 days - they all have their own unique charms.
-
• #299
What Clive said, for the plane journey to work out cheaper it needs to be at least £40 cheaper then the train when travelling from central London and I doubt it'll be any quicker unless you live right next to the airport.

Yeah, I still have Berlin on the cards. Carbon footprint though innit. When is the Eurostarlightexpress gonna make it all the way to Germany? It's all about the beers anyway and Germans are in second place to Belgium but still awesome.
Keisse!!
Pass to ride Ghent 6
