Imo yeah, it's like free text messaging and it alerts you when you have one. I have been speaking to my american friends when I'm bored which is nice. :)
And the bf is able to use it when his credit runs out. -

PointOfView have released a tablet. Cheaply priced, but comes with Froyo 2.2, so it looks promising.

Winamp Beta - uninstalled, was locking my Desire up making it totally unusable, had to pull battery up to ten times a day. Process of elimination and touch wood ok since I got rid of it. Back to stock music player

Gingerbread could replace your credit card.
What happens if teh phone is flat though? Or you have no internetz?
If Gingerbread is about to come out, how quickly should an unlocked Desire get it? Anyone know?

Update is only on Vodafone in UK, FR and DE, so you're one of them weird cases where you got it a bit by mistake. It'll spread to the other networks soon enough, but you might have to manually change your settings even if O2 send you an update notification as well.
I think it may have been rushed to VF as they continued to update to the broken 2.1 update even after HTC pulled it.
It runs a bit faster and the browser and shop tweaks are nice. Tethering will be useful at somepoint as well. No improvement in the ongoing VF Legend reception issues though.

It was only tehtering and more than one calandar I was after.
Yeah, settings were inputted manually in the first place as phone was originally on Voda.
All seems to work now.

Android 2.3 rumours: what you need to know
Answering my own question here, but 2.3 includes a new user interface, so I would imagine that will delay it a bit for HTC phones at least due to Sense UI.

"More use of the colour green." WTF?
-
• #3647
Well, 'green' is a color, the perception of which is evoked by light having a spectrum dominated by energy with a wavelength of roughly 520–570 nanometres.
Seriously though it is Android house colour I believe, the colour of the robot. So they are saying it will be more Android branded.
Not sure that's a good thing, green's not my colour.
