  • Anyone wanting to see Godspeed in December, I have for sale 2 tickets for the Monday 13th show, £25 each (save on booking fee). I can no longer attend.
(Would also trade for tickets for the Tuesday show, if you feel like helping me out!)

  • Winnebago Deal were very good. Wasn't sure about the Swedish band - kinda OK but they couldn't decide whether they were an 80s rock band or whether they were a metal band.

First Band on - the ones you must have seen - were Astrohenge. Utterly insane. My jaw was dropped, the drummer was about as quick as I have ever seen, fuck knows what the keyboard player was doing, and twin metal guitars out front was ace. It was about 30 mins into their set before it kinda registered that they didn't have a singer... I was so entranced by their aural assault I didn't notice. I do not envy any band who has to go on after them, ever.

The Swedish band was pretty much why I left - their sound check was uninspiring and I couldn't really face the nomansland between Astrohenge finishing and Winnebago Deal starting, hence why I went home.

I would say that was probably the tamest Astrohenge show I've ever seen. No one in the crowd received oral sex during their set, there was no crowd surfing, nothing got damaged and no one got hurt. Boooooooooooo.

If you like them it might be worth heading up to the Unicorn in Camden to see Art of Burning Water on the 24th. free gig and they're pretty hardcore.

Loads of good gigs coming up before Christmas... Telescopes (nov 27) and then Truman's water a few weeks later at Herne Hill Half Moon. and then... Gnod + One Unique Signal + Hey Colossus mid December.... yay!

Do I know you? I go to a lot of shows within the AOBW/AH/Rip This Joint/Li Grand Zombi/Naked Claw scenes; I saw the name and thought you might be have been Shaziyah, but the location is wrong.

  • Anyone watching LCD Soundsystem/Hot Chip tomorrow?

Me. Hot Chip I'm not so bothered about (seen twice before- never been mad keen), but LCD I cannot wait for. I've seen them five times before (since the start in 2005) and I can't get enough. Last time was at Brixton earlier in the year and the sound was a bit duff so I'm really hoping it's good tomorrow... never been to a gig at Ally Pally before either so looking forward to that too.

NO... I am not Shaziyah. Been going to RTJ for the over 2 years, but have been watching AoBW and Silent Front and the West London folks for longer... Mostly the noisy stuff though. Byron from OUS is mine.... :) It's my zine that kicks around RTJ most of the time.

There are loads of gigs coming up that aren't that crowd putting them on, a different mix of bands.

yarr. got to dash from work.

I've never known someone be so insulted by the suggestion that they might be Shaziyah. She's alright, bit of a mess when drunk though (case in point: Silent Front house party).

Kinda my reasoning... have pm'd you.

  • LCD Soundsystem tonight. Very fucking good. Missed all but Hot Chip's last song, but they sounded better than usual too.
Weird set-list from LCD, got all the hits out the way early on, but sounded spot-on, much better than at Brixton last time.

  • going to see The Invisible tonight @ Fabric.
not a big fan of these club nights but cant wait to see them play - lots of new stuff from the upcoming album apparently.

  • Polar Bear on saturday and Holy Fuck at the Electric Ballroom on monday...

YouTube - Holy Fuck - Red Lights

Surely some forum folk must be attending!

Like you missed most of hot chip (what was up with the queue!?!) really enjoyed both sets. I missed Brixton academy this year but I saw them there when sound of silver was released and really enjoyed it. The set list was a bit odd at points but I think it flowed really well. I was hoping for a hot chip x LCD collab though. I saw a lot of people filming and annulling they release the gig on DVD as it must be one of the last times they will play together in the London.

Holy fuck for the win! Quite excited, never seen them before.

Neither i! Say hello if you see a be-speckled twat with a curly haired girl with him when you're there.

  • FulangchangandI play Tommy Flynn's tonight, they're on first at about 8:00 ish, they're really good, long, droney songs. Last time I saw them they played a 30 minute set and it was only one song. Worth checking out for about £5....

  • i'm going to see the deptford beach babes in dalston tonight. haven't checked where. barden's probably.

oh and i'm playing a pared down drumless set on tuesday at a place called the artch in bethnal green.

  • Holy Fuck are playing? at the Ballroom? I am SO there with bells on.

  • I wasnt really feeling the new record, although simons DJ sets are always fun.

  • Is it alright to be pimp my own gig here? Guess I'll find out..

Our guitartist of about 8 years is leaving Bogus Gasman so we're giving him a good send off in the Cavendish Arms Ballroom, great venue with reasonably priced drinks and some wicked punk and odd rock bands. Not sure of the running order as yet, but the line-up's below. Wonk Unit are fucking great and you should see them if you haven't already. Same goes for Rabies Babies.

    Bogus Gasman
    Clay Pigeon
    Wonk Unit
    Rabies Babies
    Ice Cream Children

    Thurs 18th Nov, from 8pm
The Cavendish Arms Ballroom128 Hartington Road,

  • "I'm a bogus official... don't let me in"

    Great name.

I did a gig in an unheated railway arch in bethnal green last night. Was deeply dubious about it when I rocked up but ended up loving it. Have never done a gig where you can see your own breath as you sing. Twas slightly magical.

  • Bison bc are playing tonight at the underworld in camden. they are supporting coliseum. its only £8.50 so should be fun.

  • Friday I saw Therapy?, Sunday was Bow Wow Wow and Adam Ant. Both of which were incredible gigs. Tonight it's off to see The Fall. I am possibly living in the past a little musically...
