Here's my latest project. Been researching on the frame identification. Perhaps it's a Carlton; any words lads?

Would of thought a Carlton would have a wrap over stay? Like this one... on my now completed Raleigh Carlton which for some god damn reason had to have a god awful Mirage 115mm Bottom bracket used... Christ sake.

Ok, the bike is now complete. Had its first ride on last nights alley cat. Cheers to buckaroo for drawing up the decals, really good job. Please leave the spoke jokes, they are a bit played out.

I like that a lot

Cheers man, took me over a year to get it together. Really pleased with it.

Not really my thing, but I think I'd prefer, aesthetically, it with a white back wheel and silver stem.
-
• #35860
Fair enough, I think it would be way too much white though.

Nice forks. No bar tape?
-
• #35862
I was thinking some champ grips

Lovely effort there! I know there's a few things I would change if it were mine, but it's not, so never mind about that. Glad you're rolling again! Maybe we can catch up for a beer sometime, the bike must be nice in the flesh.

Also I think I have the same bookcase as you. It's good.

I see you got home Rich. That's good.

Yeah of course mate, would good to have a beer and a ride. I have done my best to copy my last bike, which I still miss alot. I found the same Vivalo on ebay a year ago, was in mint condition, out bid at 6 quid!!

Yeah but... I think I have left my phone in the pub. In two minds whether to go back and get it. Would be an excuse to get some geared miles in as well today. On the other hand the phone is a useless brick.

The Essex pub? Or Walthamstow? They know nothing in Walthamstow. They'll think it's a blender. Leave them to it. Nice meeting you chap.

Nobody clocked the Deicide album behind the bike huh?
-
• #35870
Deep in the 'stow, unfortunately. Only a 7 mile round trip and my neighbours are having a noisy party, which I don't fancy gatecrashing (purely based on their terrible music taste) so there's 'owt else to do...

Old Vivalo was a bit big for you, though, if I remember right. Anyway, the purple stem is a nice touch.

The same one as in "your old one" ?

as i'm sure you know, the problem with 'spokes is that they are heavy bad wheels which cost a ton of money... so putting them on a bike is an immediate fail.
bike is nice, but needs a silver stem and a real front wheel
-
• #35874
The purple stem gives you something else to look at. Good choice for me.
-

Yeah for some reason I also like that purple stem. I like the bike as a whole too by the way. The details might have put me off if I hadn't seen a picture of it, I mean purpl stem, aerospoke, white tyre, but it really comes together nicely. (I also rock an aerospoke occasionally so I'm not hatin, I love the way kids in the street look at it lol)
The wheels are worthless... Give them to me...
