  • The ebay description said it was pink, I wouldn't normally ever think about getting a pink chain ring, but as this bike will only see daylight a handfull of times a year I can afford to be a little garish. I was trying to match the Rapha-Condor team colours on the rest of the bike.

  • Got some nice new bars and pedals for my Carlton Corsair conversion. Still need to get some tape on the drops and replace that fugly seatpost. apols for the crap picture.

  • Ed, seattube length and toptube length are not strictly dependable on each other, right? so frames come in 56x55 and 56x56 sizes for instance. what's "very long" btw? 13cm? or longer?

i'm not making a fuss of this, but i'm just wondering to myself, which exactly seatpost length (showing out of seattube) and stem length would make people go, "fuck, the frame's small for you"?..

As other has said, top tube length is very important and if a bike fit well, don't worry.

I need a 57cm seat tube and a 55cm top tube if I want to ride with a 100mm stem (personal preference), but there's rarely any frame in that size (probably once in a blue moon), I went for a frame that's 55x55 square, sure there's a lots of seatpost and the stem need to be flipped upright to be in a comfortable position, but it fit perfectly (and done so by Bike Whisperer).

Seatpost won't affect how the bike handle when increase a couple millimetres or so, but a stem length increased a couple millimetres will.

Yes I'd says 130mm would be very long but that's entirely down to you.

  • My converted track bike nearly ready for Sundays Catford HC, just need a 21T sprocket.

    lovely! want that frameset.

  • right it's trike project time.

I got myself one of these cheap from ebay

    http://www.velorution.biz/shop/christiania-trailer/

and I'm going to get the rear frame from a christiania trike and bolt the two together some how. A little extra frame on the bottom of the box may be needed for extra stability, and I'll need to get some brakes on the wheels of the box somehow. was thinking v-brakes attached to one of these

    bolted to the box.

I'm entirely convinced about the brakes, anyone else got any bright ideas? The usual trikes have disc brakes but that would require new hubs which will be pricey.

A condor lavoro. The forks are spare road forks as my track forks aren't drilled. Looks much better with the right forks on.

  • Replacement for the Tommasini, kind of an on going project. Ready for a full winter of long training miles and dark nights now.

  • Similar to mine. Just an upgrade. (yours that is)

The only similarity is really the same tire.
Oh, and the fact that they're both round. ;]

  • ^ rim and hub manufacturers respectively?..

  • from the orange multi speed fixie above

i think it's fair to say that this was a totally unforeseeable outcome

  • the first battle is lost yet the war wages on:

yes this is the latest offering from the high tech research and development laboratory -
small nails jamming up a freewheel - too lazy to even go and get some cold weld - (which may be round number 3) awaiting single speed cogs for test drive

for jammed free hub , there will be advantages regarding wheels choice and interchangeability, spacing, cog choice (11 to 34 now), cheapness and lockring yet these are all inconsequential

there is only one important consideration

    • will it work or not?

  • Now?

(Pub version for now - I'll stick the drops on once I have more time to visit the velodrome. If they don't close it down before).

    Lovin this.

    I'm doubtful

  • frankly i'm 50/50 myself - for this particular round -

but for the whole venture, there is only one inevitable outcome. -

the hub may beat me many times but i only need to win once

  • new bullhorn, new pedals and matching gipiemme-dust caps for the crank

  • Just finished building this for my house mate but he's decided he doesn't have the money for the wheels so they're going on my Major Nichols and this will be going single speed.

Also just finished this for my girlfriend.

  • what brake lever is on the raleigh?

It looks like an old LX mtb v-brake lever, flipped upside down

  • Just got a new riser for my Nelson Pista:

I hope he does have the money for a rear brake then!
