Thought I ought to post this after the fiasco on this thread.. http://www.lfgss.com/thread44564-2.html... I bought it in the end, and it's shithot, although for some damn reason I need a 115mm BB axle and it's killing me trying to find one...
Might get is resprayed as suggested in For sale thread...

It looks like an old LX mtb v-brake lever, flipped upside down
Yeah, it's an old LX v brake lever. Not fliped tho
I hope he does have the money for a rear brake then!
I've put the original back brake on with drop bars and the original levers
Just put this together today with the wheels and bar/stem from the raleigh.
Just waiting for the silver SR stem I ordered from ebay and I've got some ITM bars for it. Don't know what you call them but they are the same as the ones you get on the old raleigh town bikes but alloy. -

£75 sound about right, providing it's in decent running condition.

cheers ed.
It'll be totally done by then, just waiting on the 3 speed cable and rear tube and it'll be finished up.
Think make a nice little commuter for someone for cheap, the gf may actually kill me if she doesent get the bike though lol

Me? or the other Chris?
If me: Thanks! Rims are Campag Strada NOS and tyres Panaracer Telsa, but I want to replace them asap for something faster...
Breaking my heart I can't get the BB sorted...

• #35615
Thanks Chris; I toyed with putting tan-walls on, but you can't go wrong with black rubber...

What cranks do you have that make you think you need 115mm BB spindle?

Indeed... makes a bike look a touch tougher too...

Oh don't start... I have Strada's that have been on 3 different frames (2 road one path/track) and with the same BB the spider now clips the chainstays... tired a Veloce BB (111 too) and it came closer to clearing... I might be close to a break down over this, the chap I bought it off ran the same era Pistas with a 109.. a 109!!!
-
• #35620
... Should be 109...
Should be Pista cranks...

Should be Pista cranks...
Very, very true... But aren't pista and strada the same once the inside shoulders are off?

Have you milled the shoulders off, or is that what is hitting the chainstay? I'd like to help you out, but I don't come into an old type triple axle until my old man pops his Sidis, and he doesn't look like doing that for a while.

Ummar the bar tape is bad ass, I gotta find meself some gradient tape now too!

I had same problem with my Bob jackson. Nuovo Record cranks and centaur 111 BB. Filed the shoulders down, but then found that the bolts caught anyway. So spaced the cup accross about 1.5 - 2 mm (width of a lockring) as I wasn't about to spend another £40 on a BB if I could avoid it. Works fine now is perfectly spaced on both sides.
just building up this little old folding bike, stripped, resprayed it.
waiting on a rear tube and cable for gears and ill start to screw everything down.
weirdly camera at its antics again its this colour..
