  • This page has plenty of interesting porteur inspiration;

    http://www.blackbirdsf.org/courierracing/velos.html

  • I see velo orange don't have their front racks available? whats the next best choice?

  • Try TokyoFixed, or Freshtripe.

  • Ed what size wheels are on the Clements? they look small, I want something similar for an old 40-50's Triumph but I think the wheels are 650's. Also where are your mudguards from?

  • 700c wheel with 30c tyres.

    Mudguard from velo orange.

  • Cheers Ed, the vo stuff is pretty reasonable apart from the front rack, the old bicycle company has nice chrome rears at the mo, nos as well. I think I will try n squeeze some 700's, I'll be hard pushed to find pre-built 650/27" wheels with the sturmey drum/dyno hubs me thinks, any ideas?

  • the price of the front rack is pretty reasonable for a brand new chrome one.

    you know you can try and use 26" wheel instead of 650(c or b?) wheel.

  • Here is my 650b porteur bike I built a while back.

  • @Ed 650b I think, it's pretty much like chrobin's minus the rack n fucked it may even be 30's it's got lever/pully breaks?
    @Chrobin where did you source the wheels bro?

  • Chrobin, that's a sterling effort, right down to the rear light and the hubs, brilliant!

  • Here is my 650b porteur bike I built a while back.

    incredible build, really impressed.

  • @Chrobin where did you source the wheels bro?

    The rims are Rigida Zac21 bought on Ebay. Really nice rims!. Front hub is a vintage Renak and the rear hub is the Sturmey Archer SX3.

    Thanks bro, been having real trouble with the rims.

  • ^Are they 26" or 650b though mate

  • 650b.

  • Jepp, they are 650B 584mm. Velo Orange also have 650b rims.

    i think i remember reading about this... you built everything yourself right?

  • ^ Yes I did. Their is a build tread over at fixedgear.se

  • I just realise I hasn't seen the finished article when I first saw it in 2009, excellent work chrobin.

    Have you seen those Grand Bois 650B Hetre (47c) tyres?

  • The headbadge is something;

  • Nice bling front rack....

    Paul's Quality..............

  • ^Nice racks are so fucking expensive, someone must be able to make them for the £60 mark.

  • You can get some cheap one, like dutch one for £20-40.

    Paul one are downright ugly despite being paul

  • The headbadge is something;

    big fncking head tube, that!

  • ^ I hear you the Paul is fugly , I meant quality racks in general seem expensive in comparison to say a rear hub of top quality seeing as they have no mechanics/ machining etc
