  • Witnessed an awful potential near miss with left-turning lorry/bike.
Had been to Condor and popped into newsagent next door and walked my bike down to corner of Grays Inn Road to get back on the road once lights changed.
Spot a lady on a hybrid approaching corner coming from Holborn who was checking a cement lorry ahead and to her right which had moved out to middle of road whilst slowing and clearly indicating left to turn into GIR.
She took this cue to accelerate to undertake and go straight on just as he started to turn at which point I started shouting "He's turning left!!" and waving at her to stop which made her slow down, thank fuck, and then stopped as she saw the turn properly.

It was scary to see something play out exactly the way it's speculated these incidents can happen.

  • Great work, Steve. It's always worth re-iterating that the manoeuvre lorries make before turning is deceptive. Did you have a conversation with her afterwards?

  • No, she rolled through the junction headed towards Mt Pleasant and I was going other way.

The killer was she was looking at the lorry and checking but just hadn't clocked the indicators at all.

  • ^^spotted you, OKR, 5:32, going past the tile place chasing a guy in dulwich kit. was tt-ing it the other way so no shouty :(

  • I spotted myself receiving a fagh mini at my door, and thinking "this is a bit heavy".

  • Oh, and a girl chromenger at QM sans bike.

  • A guy on a green/turquoise bike wearing an LCEF cap, you followed me all the way up new north road
but i was in a car felt inappropriate to pull a DAS!

Could be me!? Did you noticed anything else about bike? drops? black t-shirt and grey shorts?

  • Does your bike always wear a t-shirt and shorts?

  • No, it was only wearing them at the time of this spot, which is why he asked.

  • my bike thought it was sunny enough to take mudguard off and put some shorts and t-shirt on :)

  • And it was wearing LCEF cap :)

  • I do remember seeing shorts, also remember seeing a set of keys precariously poking out of a back
right pocket. did you possibly shoot off left or right onto essex road? today around 4ish?

  • Oh and black alu dolan track not too long ago near peckham rye.

It was me! Green/Turquoise frame, shorts, keys on my back right, all sounds like me. I didn't turn onto essex road, but took first right after it.
Key might look precarious on there, but you'd be surprised, i never lost a set of keys in my life!
I think it was my first ever spot.

  • I spotted myself receiving a fagh mini at my door, and thinking "this is a bit heavy".

    Just had that same experience.

  • I think it was my first ever spot.

    In that case, chapeau monsieur!
