Is there a tried and tested way, of colour matching for using normal spray paint ?
I'd like to do the job myself to save a bit of money.
i have a frame with a few scratches that i'd like to mend before i start to ride it. the reason is because some of the metal is exposed..
Or shall i leave it with Mario Vaz or someone else ? and let them do it for me.
I can't bear the though of mis-matched paint, the horror!

I've been refurbing a bike for my girlfriend. I got the frame, fenders and rear rack done. The frame looks wicked the colour changes in different lights and sparkles but in a really subtle way. It even revealed some details you couldn't see before.
The fenders look good in gloss, I can't help but thing I should have asked for lacquer but then I think that could have looked too much.Frame:

I believe the "copper" effect here is just a light reflecting off the clearcoat, but I think it looks awesome!!!
Can you get a copper finish flake over the top of grey to get the same result? Or is this never going to happen/look as nice? -

Here's another, just for beauties sake:

Would armoutex do this? I've emailed them but heard nothing back yet.
They would be perfect as they're only around the corner from me I think, but if they won't (I've heard they don't do big flakes) is there anywhere else not ridiculously too far away that would be able to achieve this? Thanks

Can anyone advise on the liklihood of pantographs/ maker stamps remaining after an armourtex job... just as they're a bit bigger than bb serials. Or a close up photo would be amazing! I had a merckx done elsewhere and they were completely filled, I'd rather retain them this time.
Thankyou! -

NuKnow, I'm sorry I am uncertain of what you have said, I'm obviously not "street" enough.
Is your name Vaz? Or are you saying someone/some company called Vaz would be able to do this? -

search for VAZ, and see..

Thankyou! The old frame I had redone revealed a serial stamp that I didn't know was there. Sorry no photos as it is now covered up by the handcuff lock mounted over it.

I restored my friend's Muddy Fox Courier and covered with RAL 9003 + Metallic Clear. Thanks for all the info about Armourtex. Without you guys know-how we couldn't have done it!

Done by my local powder coater (Keep Powder Coating).
I think my friend photoshoped the image a bit.

Looks lush. Thinking of doing a frame I just won in a cream with the gold metallic lacquer. Now considering this treatment.

Have just dropped off my frame and forks for powdercoating at armourtex. Went for RAL 9001 in matt lacquer...exciting times. Will post pics as soon as possible.

^ That it is. Freshly reinstalled at 27Nm and buttery smooth after my overtightening mishap.
