  • The following vote will be posted to forum 24 for a public vote, all known London polo players will be counted, votes from outside the polo community will be discounted.
Please note that this vote is based on the assumption that the Euro spots will be allocated by city. If this is not the case then this vote will become null and void.

  • Rik's vote should not be counted, he is no longer a london player (sorry rik)

  • In every other sport euro champs are fed from domestic leagues. Seems sensible to adopt in Bike Polio.

    [/non polo viewpoint]

    no worries Gabes

I still consider myslef as part of London Polo :(

  • sad times. at least you haven't been kicked out of the LPC!

  • ha!

  • Rik, in our hearts you are. But slapped wrists for voting. tut tut.

Max, that vote isn't in the LPC.

  • Max was pointing out that he was kicked out of LPC when he left London.

  • Good point, I haven't tidied up in there for ages, I will do a tidy up later/tomorrow. Yorgo/Landslide/Emmet/Rik and a few others who aren't playing in London any more.

  • it's a cruel world.

  • Em, I think you should edit the first post to make it clear that if yes is voted, we then vote on how many spots. i.e. just one spot or more.

  • Ha. I think you posting that already makes it clear.

Plus each vote is numbered and corresponds to number on the "Poll Options" thread.

  • em, you've done a great job with these polls so far!

  • hell yeah!

  • This vote is stupid. It assumes all teams formed before the league will want to play together at the Euros, and it excludes people who did not play in the league from trying to play the Euros.

    i agree...

  • I think maybe this vote should have happened before the league was decided.

The league is probably a good place to decide who we send but it's a long way off and things change, new players move to London, old players quit, and teams dissolve.

A qualifying tourney on the otherhand excludes people simply b/c they aren't available that day, but allows for new players and teams to switch up.

    Tough one.

I think its a great 'prize' for the winners of the league so I voted yes. I certainly don't think all Euro spots should go this way (so that it won't exclude non-league players or changing teams). If the vote is yes, there will be a further vote for how many.

If the winners get auto-entry (and if they choose to accept it), it will make for a better Euros-qualifying tourney without them :)

  • Roxy - how is this not before the league is decided?

Surely as the league hasn't started this is the exact time to poll on it?

  • Exactly, this is before the league.

Vidal, it's not excluding anybody, it's just giving the winner or top two or something (yet to be voted on) a place. There will be more places available to London.

  • It's not clear from this question alone that there will be further votes about how many places will be decided and that non-league places will be available to London.

  • I think it was listed in the poll disc in lpc that there would be further votes as to how many spots would be allocated if it goes to a Yes vote

  • Good point, I haven't tidied up in there for ages, I will do a tidy up later/tomorrow. Yorgo/Landslide/Emmet/Rik and a few others who aren't playing in London any more.

I didn't even join the LPC bit until I'd already left London, but as I noted when I requested access, I hoped to learn from LPC. There are some good discussions in there that are food for thought not just for London, but polo in general.

Max,** that vote isn't in the LPC.**

Exactly, this poll isn't in the LPC forum so non-lpc players can vote on it but it's not clarified exactly what the outcome of the vote is. 1, 2 or all Euro spots go to the London league? And then is that number voted outside of the LPC as well?

Object and Gabes, I think Roxy meant before the registration of teams for the League. In reality, I don't think it's a very big deal but in principle it is.

    Okay. Good. Not stupid, then.
